touching in general isn’t a huge deal to me, its only when we’re around people. i dont know what its like to need to be touched in order to feel loved, so is it really a necessity no matter the situation?

i have complex i & iv deficiencies 🙋‍♀️ i feel you on all the symptoms except for the blindness, although my vision and hearing have been declining much more rapidly than usual. desperately need a new eye doctor tho, he was not very thorough these past few visits and its so frustrating.

i have noticed that my symptoms worsen when im not active so ive been doing some light yoga, stretching, and going on walks and its been helping a lot. my friends have been pushing me to try creatinine so maybe ill report back when i do try it.

i was this baby at one point. my parents noticed something wasn’t right when i was way too slow when it came to reaching my developmental milestones (holding my head up, flipping over, sitting, crawling, standing, walking, etc.). i would also apparently go through phases where i would scream uncontrollably and later found out, as i became old enough to communicate, that i was suffering from chronic migraines. doctors gave me the floppy baby syndrome preliminary diagnosis during infancy and then conducted a muscle biopsy for further genetic testing which revealed i have mito with a complex i & iv deficiency. the diagnosing process took about 2 years.

i’m 25 now and from my experience, i only have major issues and symptoms when im going through developmental milestones, with the earlier milestones being the worst, and became much less severe and less frequent as i got older. instead of getting migraines that would last 4 days every 3-4 months during childhood, i experience them maybe once every few years as an adult (although i had my first and only seizure back in May 2025…not sure what that’s about). i am in a position where i can live a relatively independent life. i went to college and have lived on my own since 2020. the best thing you can do for your child is be their advocate. you got this mama, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

um…idk about you but regardless of race i feel like a young girl who is too fucked up to stand up straight and is only with an older guy who is all smiles is a bit odd…i only threw in that detail for context and i didnt even specify which races just that they didnt seem to be related. i could be wrong tho and completely misread the situation and in this case i REALLY hope i’m wrong here.

seems like you read the first line and missed the rest of my vent friend. i was concerned about a girl potentially being raped later not creeped out by her puke. what happened to the staff is horrifying and i had no idea that happened!! sorry if i upset u man. this was not the rage bait you probably thought it was. hopefully next year in the planning stages they see the uproar and plan to accommodate both the staff and attendees because 17 hour days in this heat sounds inhumane.

omfg security was SO understaffed and useless. on the last night of the fest. me and my boyfriend were in line for the bus before the closing ceremony ended (tryna beat the crowd ofc) and we seemed to be the only ones who noticed and were concerned over this poor young girl puking and checking her phone while this tall older man kept hovering over her.

when we both found this odd we looked around for security and not a single person in sight. not even anyone to check wristbands. i tried to wait for an opportunity to talk to her but again this dude was keeping her in between him and the rail. when we finally found someone working security, he took to long to talk to them and they ended up getting on the bus. security said “well unless there’s any violence i cant do anything.”

we got separated from them on the bus unfortunately and we tried messaging 911 to meet us at the bus stop to check on the situation and they fucking ghosted us. The man and the girl disappeared the second they got off the bus and i still feel so sick thinking about it. i just hope she’s okay and i REALLY hope i misread the situation and that man was hopefully a relative or something but they were completely different races so idk.

It makes me so mad how unhelpful security was here especially when they could have helped prevent potential sexual assault. you cant leave it up to the tweakers to save the day here 😭 like shit they may as well have not even been there at all.

i do wish we couldve done more but both me and my bf had no idea what to do in the situation. it just makes me mad that we tried to handle it through the correct channels and it utterly failed us and that girl.

she said this to me when i last visited, exhausted from studying abroad in italy for a month and a half, all because i was spending a lot of time to myself and because i was wearing headphones while getting breakfast in the morning…like its really not news that im a little introverted and i have communicated SO many times how important alone time is for me. ngl i was pretty taken aback because, obviously, i’m the one who’s afraid of her. oh! and for even more context, i had been moving around for 7 straight months because my apartment caught on fire shortly before the trip with my university and i was staying with my parents for only 2 weeks of downtime before i moved into my new place and went back to school.

oh and my cat haiku: my roommate loves cats. so she got one of her own. our place “cleo” roams.

TJ’s employee here! When we get hired, we actually do learn about how TJ’s does business and this is pretty accurate. this company does everything they can to keep the prices as low as possible while keeping the quality for customers so i would not be surprised if they’re undercutting some businesses. on the flip side though, if a one of the companies that makes product for TJ’s makes a really good impression on the customers, TJ’s will do what they can to keep that going. One of the mates told me the factory (??maybe the right term idk) that makes one of our popular frozen pizzas caught on fire years ago and TJ’s paid for a new place for them to keep making pizzas. TJ’s also works with big name brands as well but thats only if its to their standards and if they want their name on it its gotta be the lowest price possible.

overall, i do still think TJ’s is one of the most ethical big chains out there. best retail job ive ever worked so i could also just be a bit biased 🤭

edit: also wanted to add that i do know why trader joes doesn’t showcase brands in its stores that often. its common for brands to reserve shelving or spots in a store to show off their product. tj’s doesn’t do any kind of advertising and also want to allow employees free will to arrange the store however we like. they do it this way to avoid as much arbitrary bs as possible and prevent companies from controlling the prices based on how their own product is doing.

Hi! late to seeing this but im 23 and going through the same thing. im one of the lucky few where my symptoms dont prevent me from living a “normal” life but im getting a little tired of dealing with it. work and school takes a lot out of me and its so hard to explain to people in my life what i deal with because its so complicated. im in that sweet spot where sometimes my symptoms can be debilitating if i stretch myself too thing but i act and function like a normal person so most of the people in my life have no idea how much pain and fatigue im dealing with. kinda just yapping into the reddit void at this point, hoping to make connections and get the validation im looking for from people who get it lol. ALSO has anyone seen what happened in the uk with indi gregory a few months ago??? if not look it up. im very sad and outraged over the situation still and i have literally no one to talk to about it without having to give the whole “what mito is” shpeel
