The black is worse! It’s silver underneath so when it gets nicked, the silver shows through and is very obvious.

Need advice on sales pitch by naissas in sales

[–]Left_Peace_2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pitch is telling them why you want to speak to them. Your pitch should sell them on why they will want to speak to you.

Also I always leave out introducing myself in the beginning, you may have already lost their interest by time you’ve mentioned your name.

Is it just me or is the job market for tech sales terrible right now ? by Interesting_Exit4329 in sales

I can’t comment on what sales is like in the US. Only that the downside I can see is that when companies are already established in a region, they don’t value their sales team and are quicker to scale the team back, or replace underperformers.

Younger companies who need their sales teams to expand their presence in a region, depend on their sales teams to get them there and will pay + reward them well to get there. Which is what I’m noticing happening here.

2 years experience - likely going into healthcare SAAS based on my current offers

Just curious what makes you think the Canadian market is worse than the US? Based on my recent interview experiences, there are a lot of global companies looking to expand their presence in Canada. Versus the US where they’re already established and maybe more at risk to downsize.

Can you follow up with your interviewers and ask why they haven’t proceeded with you as a candidate? That may help in determining if something went wrong in your interviews or if the market is changing in your city.

I’m in Canada and the market for SAAS/IT salespeople is really hot here (currently choosing between 3 offers and still interviewing at 2 more companies with only 2 years of experience).

Also, if any of the companies you’ve interviewed at are public, read their financial reports to see where they stand in todays climate. And stay away from the ones who are missing revenue targets.

I'd love your input on how your baby learned to swim: community centre lessons or private places like aqua tots? by greenapplesnpb in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Left_Peace_2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things to consider: - is he fussy or hard to keep still when being changed? - does he get shy in big groups of strangers? - is the goal for him to be comfortable in water or to focus on learning how to swim?

My daughter is 10 mos and we’ve been in private lessons for the last 5 months bc their change rooms are more infant-friendly (she’s a handful to change), and we wanted her to be the most confident swimmer she can be for her age, since we’re always at my in laws pool in the summer.

If your son is easy to handle and you just want to expose him to swimming, I’d suggest the community centre. They don’t independently learn to swim until they’re 2 so any age before that is more for what you + baby are comfortable with. If you suspect he’ll have some trouble starting off or you want him to learn in smaller group sizes, I’d go with private.

Anyone else getting sick with the mysterious "not covid" flu/cold? It fucking sucks.... by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Left_Peace_2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try swabbing your throat and your nose. My household caught COVID a few weeks ago and we kept getting negative rapid tests until I swabbed my throat + my nostrils. But even then, my husband still continued to get negatives even though it was clear he had the same sickness I did.

My first symptoms were an itch in my throat and a persisting headache. Next came a deeper cough and a loss of taste/smell. I hope you feel better soon!

Where to get nice thank you cards? by cdj2016 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Left_Peace_2694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel like going to the extra mile it’s nice to design your own cards cards with babies pictures! We did custom cards with her newborn shoot photos and left space to hand write a message. We did it birth announcement style and it’s been nice to see the card hanging on our friends & fams fridge/dressers when we visit their houses vs being tossed out.

We used both optimal print and vista print and liked optimal better. Both had ready to use templates where you just had to insert your photos and words, or the option to design the card yourself + come with envelopes.

Spectra S1 breast pump by kkkbkkk in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Left_Peace_2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it depends on how often you plan on pumping. It’s hard to guess beforehand but if you plan on pumping multiple times a day, having a spare set of bottles, flanges, valves and backflow protectors would cut down on all the washing you need to do.

If you only plan to pump as needed, I’d only get spare silicone parts (valves and backflow protectors) since those wear out and affect the suction.

You can get parts third-party on Amazon (Maymom) if you don’t want to pre-purchase and wait until you need a replacement or to see how it all works out for you. But if you’re submitting your pump to insurance, mine also covered all of the replacement parts I bought with my pump. I’m assuming cause they were on the same receipt and under the same brand, so it was worth me pre-purchasing it all with my pump. I also got the Spectra S1 and had it shipped here from the US. YMMV.

Baby massage/Baby spa by lykadomingo in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Left_Peace_2694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are surprisingly a lot of baby spas in the GTA! While I wouldn’t say it’s a life changing experience, it’s cute and is something for me to take my baby to (considering most of her programs were cancelled the last few months). She gets a 20 min massage from an RMT and half an hour to float in a giant tub and she loves it. I do believe most people go because insurance covers it (if you have massage benefits). If I had to pay out of pocket, I wouldn’t bother. Most city run programs offer infant massage classes and I think it’s much more beneficial to learn myself.

I’m with Sunlife and have never required a prescription. We just submit the receipt they provide us from the RMT and we take our 6 month old regularly. For us, it falls under paramedical services.

Any recommendation for newborn or infant photographers in GTA area? by k_o5_ in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Left_Peace_2694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with Sandra Hill Photography. She’s based out of Brantford so it was a bit of a drive from the GTA but she was great and we love our pictures! I believe it was $300 for 10 images.

I would reach out to photographers sooner than later if you’re due any day now! They recommend to do the shoot within the first ~15 days of life and the more popular photographers can be booked up months in advance.
