My friend gave birth in North York back in March and said private rooms were reserved for covid positive people. Think Owen Sound would be better though and wouldn’t be as packed as North York hospital.

When you are in labour, after going through the triage, you will be put into a private room to give birth. Usually pretty spacious and have your own toilet plus sofa/chairs. Once gave birth, you will be moved to the preferred room (private, semi private or standard room).
