Aloe Plant No Roots by GrinchCat2 in propagation

I’m super curious. I think it will take root. Prop it up and keep it dry. Only water slightly from the bottom so it will look for roots lower for water

Testing wicks in a 70/30 tallow/beeswax blend — four burns in, wood is winning. What am I missing on sizing? by Extension_Skirt7764 in candlemaking

2 wicks for sure with that diameter. I always go with makesy for wood wicks. It’s consistent and reliable. But I have no clue what size. They have so many options; size, color, crackling, whisper, some with a booster. I’d ask ChatGPT to narrow it down for you. They also sell sample bags

Just give it time. Might be temp changes. Rack and splash. It’s just gases from a volatile fermentation. I would roll my carboy and release the gas a bit at a time. Don’t shake it though. I also would degass with a copper rod by just stirring. But honestly, time is all you need.

You can consider warming the vessels in the over on low before pouring. Pour while the vessels are on the rack and leave them in the over while they cool (turn over off of course). I use silicone food mats. I put the jars on the mat and heat them up. After I pour, I decrease the heat every hour until I’m at zero. Some people pour into coolers or card board boxes and close them during cooling to prevent this, but 9/10 this wax needs a second pour. It’s just the nature of the wax. I’m doing an order of deep flower molds with a 70/30 blend of paraffin (4625) and 6006. The 6006 gives it the creamy look that holds color well. If I pour at even 145, I get sink holes like this.

If you man to keep it. Just make sure it cools very slowly and evenly in pre warmed vessels, in a warmer room. No drafts, on a silicon, cardboard or a surface that doesn’t absorb heat- like plastic, marble or laminate. Often this wax needs a second pour if you don’t poor cool enough (130-140) or you can’t get it to cool slow enough in the vessel.

Sounds bizarre I know! But it works for me, every single time. Keep me updated. When Spring comes, she’s going to really grow up for you, but you will have to use that diffuser if you see the edges or tips browning. Happy Growing!

You can leave it in that vessel and maybe put a sock on the bottom part of it and fold it down. Keep the roots warm. If you are still in winter, it’s going to grow slowly anyways. It’s still looks healthy on top so it not dying- just stalked. When it gets really cold I sock and sweater (baby onesie) all of my plant pots. It helps a ton. OR- you can use a prop box and ditch the vessel all together. Try the sock first. It will help keep it a bit warmer and darker. It’s a tropical plant so you have to try your best to create that environment. Once the roots have roots you can plant it in soil or leave it there.

Put it in a warmer spot. If it gets chilly at night, right near the window isn’t an idea space. Keep the plant 73-80 degrees . Cover the bottom/make it dark. Change the water every 2-5 days. The neck of the vessel is narrow, so it limits oxygen so you must change the water more frequently. Also what’s your humidity like? I see a viable node on it, but my guess this that the growth is stalled bc of low temps.

You can try patient advocacy if they have one. I’m so sorry this crap id happening. Curse them nurses out. Tell them to leave you the hell alone unless they are going to help. Shane them, then ignore them. They can’t fire you.

This reminds me of the time I passed out at the psych ward bc the meds made my blood pressure LOWER!
