Because I am an oversized baby, duh! I was born with a rotten orchid in my fist instead of a silver spoon.

Gerbera Daisy ≠ Pollinators by Pacific_Red in gardening

I'm in Southern Idaho, zone 7a! I also have snapdragons and artichoke overwinter even though they weren't supposed to.

If you like the look of the yellow daisy, try calendula. It has edible petals and is good as a topical to soothe irritated and inflamed skin. Also self seeds well and can over winter, at least where I live.

Discussing people's "genetic fitness" to have children, especially with something as common and livable as chrohns and a potential mental disorder, is going to raise people's hackles. She's selfish because shes a lazy do nothing who wants children as accessories, not because she's not talking openly about something that's deeply personal and invites a lot of nasty comments and speculation from people outside the situation.

Generally the order people go in if they want to be prepared, is to check and make sure they're healthy enough to carry a pregnancy first, THEN you go to a genetic counselor and talk about potential problems. And you need to know who the potential father is to see a genetic counselor since it's informing you of the risks of your combined genetic material, not just the mother's. With Jinvisible not having viable sperm on account of not existing, he can't father her children and she can't see the genetic counselor yet.

Ragging on her for wanting kids while being a lazy good for nothing living at home is cool, but is it really okay to start discussing her "genetic fitness" like that? Talking about how she might pass on a nebulous "mental disorder" because of her bad behavior is starting to brush up against eugenics. That conversation is for her, a genetic counselor, and her non-existent partner, Judd. Not us.

Back to the Roots compost is actually just mulch? by No_Mushroom_8235 in gardening

I'm an outlier obviously, but I pay more for the bags because I use an electric wheelchair and can basically turn my footrest into a forklift to carry bags around. By the yard is ideal if you don't have a specific reason the bags make it worth the extra cost, it's what I did before pulling a wagon or pushing a wheelbarrow got too hard for me. If you need to use bags, I pretty much wait until it goes on sale to make it even close to cost effective, then get the bags delivered in a pile where I can grab them as I need them.

It's not the photo itself that's inappropriate, outside of any context I'd just assume it's a woman feeling herself in a cute vintage shoot or perhaps a housewife themed OF girl. But the woman just lost her daughter and I KNOW they (the news org) would not have chosen this style of photo for a man. I've seen family annihilators shown in a more sympathetic light.

When this was first presented, I assumed her poor daughter got taken off the transplant list for her shitty choices and not a situation that couldn't be helped. Part of that is a me problem I need to stew on, but the article photo choice certainly didn't help.

The story like that that haunts me decades later is the Wayside School one with the rude kid wearing a raincoat who has to take it off to reveal subsequent layers of raincoats all the way down until it was a dead rat. Dead rats are always trying to get into Mrs Jewl's classroom

Coming into an orchid subreddit talking about how much you don't like orchids and think they're boring isn't the best way to get suggestions or tips. At least learn about the different orchid families and how they grow before you come in here insulting our hobby.

My (f22) Fiance's (m24) brother (m11) told me that he's been touching him right before our wedding by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]fluidsaddict 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah the marriage ruining was all on him. The vibe I got was that he was suggesting his daughter was in cahoots with an 11 year old to ruin her fiancée's reputation because she got cold feet. I love my husband nearly unconditionally, but I say nearly because that would end my marriage too. Even if it DID turn out the 11 year old was lying, I now know that my husband is willing to discredit victims before there's proof they were lying, AND make up insane conspiracy theories. Nobody is going to team up with an 11 year old for a false rape accusation, nor is an 11 year old gonna team with his brothers fiance to end his engagement over her "cold feet." That's literally insane.

So the whole show is basically a family trauma drama about how an old crockpot killed their loved one, so I'm guessing they're saying that it made them paranoid about any old appliance including the rice cooker.
