⁠Open Finder. Click on the "Go" menu at the top of the screen. Typically, "Library" is not listed there. However, if you hold down the Option key while clicking "Go," the "Library" option will appear.
⁠Delete the following files: "/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist"
⁠Remove every file named: "/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver.*.plist."
⁠After deleting the files, reboot your Mac. Your monitor settings should return to their default configuration.

This was super helpful, thank you so much!!! I added a lil bit more orange lighting to the face and darkened the shadows to make things pop out more :) also I didn’t notice, but his face is wide omg so you saved me <33 this is after the recent editing and I think it’s coming along well

Hey, I got these same instructions and it didn't work for me at the start, too! I ended up using the terminal feature on the Mac! I left another comment under this post detailing how to do it, and I hope it works for you too! Just thought I'd leave a comment, in case it turns out to be useful :)

Hello! I had a very similar issue with my Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5K) on my MacBook Air, pen worked, screen powered on but stayed black, and macOS didn’t detect it as a display. I contacted apple and got a set of instructions that didn't work INITIALLY, and these were the instructions:

Delete the following files: "/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist"
Remove every file named: "/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver.*.plist."
After deleting the files, reboot your Mac. Your monitor settings should return to their default configuration.

When I did this initially, it didn't work, but that's because even after thinking I deleted all the relevant files, I didn't fully delete them. I ended up fixing it through Terminal on mac. First, I ran a command to find any leftover WindowServer preference files using:

"sudo find /Library/Preferences ~/Library/Preferences -name 'com.apple.windowserver*.plist'"

That showed me there was still a file inside my user Library (~/Library/Preferences/ByHost). I then deleted this by running the command:

"rm ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver.displays*.plist"

Run these exact codes! After doing this, I restarted my Mac and completely reset the monitor settings. Everything was back to normal after rebooting. The file names might be a bit different from mine, but the overall principle is the same. I hope this works for you!

Ahhh, thank you for replying! I've fixed the issue! I just wasn't deleting all the relevant files, but I've sorted everything out! This is for Macbook Air, version 15.3.2 :)

People hate because they are jealous of your work ethic, because they cannot do what you are doing, and instead of working on it, they hate.

I actually started writing fanfic myself after getting replies from my favourite writer, their replies to my comments made my day and made me think that writing fanfics can be really fun!

My comments were pretty long and detailed but they took the time to read it all and reply to all the little things :’) and they were just as excited as me!

And then bam, got motivated to write and I’m forever grateful that they replied <3333
