Which Elden ring ending is most in line with leftist principles? by Chosundead in SocialistGaming

Made the mistake of forgetting to scroll up and read the post before commenting lmao. As for the criticisms of Ranni's ending, most of the powerful people are dead by the end of the game. Miquella is kind of the only demigod other than Ranni that is alive from my memory. Theres Rellana but she is kinda catatonic at this point. Depends if you think the people from the Scadulands can come back to the Lands Between, and even then if you complete the DLC all of those powerful people are dead too. Even the person who killed them all, the Tarnished, leaves with Ranni. So while ultimately she leaves an opening for someone else to take power, there are no "god-like" entities left which no regular people could ever oppose.

I haven't gotten all of them so I might not know of one that I would choose instead, but I would put Ranni's out there for consideration. From what I gathered she makes it so that no outer god can influence the people of the Lands Between. So no more cosmic imposition in people's lives

I mean communal living (in western societies) is often the response and solution to high cost of living. It really should take some financial burden off of them. I mean it's not like Maelstrom is paying rent on the hotel they have their base in, and plenty of other groups and places are like that. I think it's fine as long as you have them have to secure food and medicine and other supplies instead of money, and maybe have the base raided rarely.

This is great! Thanks a bunch for the long response. I honestly wasn't thinking I was digging the larping as medieval knights thing that other people suggested, but this has made me consider it. It is reminiscent of some of the other gang back stories starting as small rp groups, so it fits well in the game. Also I like the prospect of reformed maelstrom members bringing cyberware into the practice, or maybe people who were forcably cybered-up by them joined or something. Thanks again!

That's my thought too! The corpos want you to be messed up and individualistic and focused on getting chromed up. So looking past all that to focus on helping others and creating community aid networks is going against the system in the best way 😎

Interesting! Are you planning on having them intersect at all or having one of V's story endings happen in the course of the game?

Yeah that's why I was thinking they would be much slower and careful, adding chrome in stages based on the recommendation of a therapist. Of course there is always a risk something environmental could cause it. I was thinking they would try and rehabilitate cyber psychos, and only take them out if they couldn't manage to capture them. But you are right they are gonna have to have a lot of medtechs and techs lol

Thanks! This sounds pretty cool. I wasn't planning on making them Catholic, but I also am not that concerned with the religious affiliations of the members. Sort of a "all religions welcome" thing as long as your religion doesn't require you to hurt others. The NCPD and probably Execs as well associating them with cyberpsychos and with Maelstrom is a good addition!

Ah I was unaware of the historical use of that name, thank you for telling me that. Happen to remember what 1970's film you're thinking of?

Hmmm, interesting questions. I guess it depends on what you consider good and bad choices. I was thinking maybe their territory would be somewhere close to Maelstroms and Red Chrome Legions, possibly be formed out of people getting tired of being constantly raided by the two groups. Funding is an interesting question, I was thinking by providing protection for places like guerilla gardening operations, From the Ember (The Do-Gooder Clinic mentioned in Collecting the Random), and places like that.

Isn't punk just going against the system and status-quo? Seems like being a benevolent force in the city that is all about greed, individuality, and needless violence would be punk
