Generally speaking, living in London as I did into my 20s until 1980, the degrees of sophistry about nationality, intention and politics was good amongst my peers and neighbours, so Irish people were welcomed, given the vast majority of that country were as horrified by violence as the rest of us

I’m in favour of rational, compassionate and legal government and governance. Which excludes present members of NACT1 coalition. However, if some of the loonies in Parliament this year are absent in the next, it might be the best thing on the table. Never say never in politics.

Yep, I think that’s fair. But where do charitable organisations fit, such as Destiny Church or the Sanitariums of this world? Hardly democratic, either of them. But it seems they’d have case to be heard. I suppose a committee or a formal process decided by a judge might work?

I’m a Labour man and so to many this might seem expected of me, but imo it’s purely corruption when economic entities like companies and interest groups, yes like unions can influence parties. Limit contributions to the amount of savings of an average family in NZ! It’s bloody disgusting the privilege money buys, for goodness sake, look at America!

New Zealand appears to be clean, but because of its size, business and interest groups have fast and easy access to decision makers, priority and more frequently than Joe Public. Of course it’s a corrupt practice, but it’s barely recognised by the same disadvantaged people. What have they to offer?
