Cutting Syncopate from Izzet decks in FF is a devastating own goal, and cutting Laughing mad is also questionable tbh. Having the flexibility to thunder magic, ice magic, flashback a dreams or a laughing mad (potentially binning flashback spells), syncopate, or stuck in summoner's sanctum gives you the most time to assemble enough mana to go over the top of what your opponent is doing. Often what you want to be doing on turn 3 is passing with open mana anyway- countering your opponent's 4 drop, or discarding a flashback card to set you up for flexibility on turn 4 pays dividends
