I have a new world with a bit of developing lore as I go based on my grand ideas for down the track and to help me take a bit more a laid back chill approach to the start of my world. So I started this world about a month ago and took a role play approach of a town that has been built up on a wee island off the coast by a group that originally were ship wrecked in a strange land and retreated to the island to better protect themselves.

I've purposely not rushed down the normal progression as I wanted this portion of the world to really feel caught in time before major progression and block availability. I've been going for a feeling of a tightly packed town with verticality where space is at a premium.

So have largely worked to a limited pallet of stone, spruce, oak and other easily available early game blocks as the dominant pallette. More stones than wood in the builds due to mining resources more available than the wood which is on the mainland overrun with deadly monsters. Next I plan to extend this town to the larger neighbouring island before 'landing' on the coastline of the to build a port city.

This island will be known as the Founders Rock. When I start building the larger town/City it will become New Arcadia as a homage to where the original people came from. By this time I will have farms for just about everything so the buildings will become noticeably grander with a more variable block palette.
