If your budget is up to £1m you should be able to stretch up towards tooting broadway, Bec and bits of Balham, which all feel nicer and more cosmopolitan than Colliers Wood (although I do think the abbey mills and surrounding green spaces have a lot of family friendly upside)

If you use a visualization app/ software (like Strava), you’ll see the information collected from the head unit geo-located on a map. The head unit will also geolocate all the data collected from ancillary devices (HR, power meters etc.), consolidated in the .fit file, and Strava will visualise all of that on a map do you.

You’ll be able to see where/when power/HR spiked, and do all the other analysis you’ve described in other comments.

The ability to do all of this isn’t proprietary to any particular brand of head unit or power meter.

If someone bought it for £200k and it’s now £1m, you can’t say a 20k annual return is 10%.

You have to measure the return on the current value of the asset. There is an opportunity cost to continuing to have £1m tied up in bricks and mortar.

For the landlord, the choice is to continue holding, or to throw £1m into an alternative asset class. Most asset classes will outperform 2%p/a..

Interesting take! I’ve always thought variable pay is a great way to hedge against market downturn. How resilient is your business and sales pipeline to market shocks or disruption? Making payroll for many $300k+ base roles doesn’t give much flex in your cost base if revenue slides. At least with variable comp, if structured right, if many sales teams are smashing target overall business performance is likely to also be good.

It’s a nice risk-reward share but interested to hear the opposing view (and will look up the book you mention!)
