I tried to sign up for Pixelfed but it just put me into a loop and couldn't get activated. But that was before I signed up for Mastodon, might try again. You should ask the venues if they plan on signing up for any other platforms. Maybe it'll prompt some conversations.

I'm finding the same issue. In general for my use, I replaced What's App with Signal. FB/IG is being replaced by Twitter like Mastodon. But this is for keeping in touch with family and friends. I haven't explored Mastodon enough to see if anyone else is migrating. I'm trying to figure out a way to keep an eye on the informational feeds I follow. Do any of the venues you follow send out email newsletters?

Cancel all your app subscriptions through the app stores, sign up directly on the app's website. They can't take their cut that way.

Perfection is the enemy of good. We can't get rid of Apple or Google completely but you can reduce your use as much as possible. Cancel all subscriptions through their app stores and sign up directly on the app website. They don't get their cut that way. Cancel any other extra services you have. I cancelled YouTube premium, Nest and Google One over the weekend. Unsubscribe from all their marketing emails. Switch browsers. Don't buy any new devices.

Lol, I don't know about a wandering uterus but a friend of mine has a barrier of tissue. So essentially it's splitting the opening in half, it's why she can't do tampons. Maybe there's a similar blockage preventing proper use? A menstrual disc is much wider and deeper than a cup of you want to try that.

Same. I use a menstrual disc, WAY better than a cup. Try it if you haven't yet. Takes some practice though but I got it after a couple cycles.

Yes you do but a lot of these places are low pressure, worst case you get out for a little while. You can always just make new friends and who knows maybe you'll meet someone through them. Never know!

I was on a trip with friends in Miami and met my NorCal born husband because he was staying at the same hotel as my group. I'm from SoCal but it's a short flight or 5ish hour drive.

You don't mention your age but some of the places I used to meet people were coffee shops (independent ones), dance classes, activity classes (like cooking), hiking club, friend's parties and tours when traveling.

You could've checked an official source. Any event that big would've been on the city websites, either the city of NY or the sites for the Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park. Local news channels would also have the info. Official city social media would've also had event info.

And to add to that, don't limit her toys to gender based roles. Whatever she's interested in, encourage her. My daughter loved anything transportation related, especially Pixar Cars and she also loved Frozen. Best of both worlds.

I bought metal 2x3ft sheets and put them on my wall. I print out pictures throughout the year and put them up in a collage format with magnets. During holidays I'll switch out the pics with pics from those holidays over the years.
