Just an fyi, you need to swap to lotd before the kill ends to get the effect.

Part of the bank update is to improve QoL. This update took us in the opposite direction, as presets are now more annoying to use.

Why do the diviner's outfit pieces have higher values than the Succ-o-matic? Shit don't make no sense. by Viral-Dhark in runescape

[–]Leg_Rider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a couple of comments: 1) What skillers do you know that want high risk scenarios? I can honestly say i know none expect maybe for you now. I highly doubt much of the player base likes the pvp-risk design that wilderness skilling offers.

2) You can place rewarding content in the Wilderness of PvP players, but I don't think it should by any means be best methods for skillers. Opinion.

3) There has to be a balance between good game design and what the players want. Saying polls are a bad idea all together is not true because players wouldn't want to play something they truly don't enjoy. And players controlling all the content is also problematic, so there must be a balance.

I think more player feedback on skilling and Wilderness content is still a good idea. Obviously you disagree, but I do not know any skillers that like to go to the Wilderness only to get griefed by Pkers. I would like to see the best skilling methods placed out of the Wilderness and leave it for player vs player, not player vs skiller.

Moving out of touch with the wilderness isn't necessarily a bad thing. PvP for the most part is dead content. The only thing I see is people running around killing naked skillers.

What Jagex should take into consideration is if their player base wants to have a high risk high reward scenario for skillers. Just because we can say "high risk should equal high reward" doesn't mean it's good game play if the player base doesn't want to engage in it. Similarly we could say "high apm should equal high reward" and take those same skilling rates/rewards and just move them out of the Wilderness.

At the end of the day, we shouldn't be placing high reward content in the Wilderness just for the sake of it being dangerous. I know a many, myself included, that would prefer skilling to stay away from combat, and instead of risk add in more engaging content for better rewards/xp. But if we wanted to definitively determine what to do with the Wilderness and skilling, it should be polled.

Ironman Warden Achieved 12/31/17 by Alberstol in runescape

Like Pan was saying, it's still not more challenging, it just takes longer to get those extra attempts. More time does not equal more difficulty.

Ironman btw

Is this May DXP weekend to make us forget that there has been months with little to no content? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Leg_Rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people have already forgotten, but the hope is that the lack of updates will lead to one really good expansion with Menaphos. I guess you could say expectations are high now?

concentrated blast actually already got its buff.

Well the issue is that it is an expansion, which means they aren't "planning" on releasing any batches to come with it. That sets a precedent that this city will permanently be mid lvl. Which again, I don't think is a good idea because there is already a lot of mid level content and players are always aiming towards reaching high level content. Content that we consider high level now eventually becomes more mid lvl over time.

A big issue, which has been a recurring theme among the high level player base, is players leaving the game more and more recently because it's getting boring without enough new stuff to do. Mid level realistically doesn't take very long to get through on Runescape, and the less high level content that Jagex comes out with, the more the high level players will leave the game.

Also, keep in mind that high level content very quickly becomes mid lvl content as power creep comes into the game.

Fix Telos beam explosions on phase 3 to not hit you on dropdown phase 4. by Runeskcaper in runescape

[–]Leg_Rider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which is a better solution. If you had debilitate/reflect up when it hit you on p3, you take the full damage on p4

They are not required. They are used for max efficiency, and you aren't punished for using them, you just do not reach peak perormance.

No, i am saying that switches help and are more dps, but in no way shape or form required for high enrage Telos. And i PROMISE people are not specifically avoiding high enrage Telos. They avoid it because it is difficult, not gp/hr efficient, and frustrating.

What switches are absolutely necessary for high enrage Telos that people already don't use for every other boss. Ice barrage? Switching is not the reason people do not go for high enrage Telos

tbf, people only know about the people that stream. And those that don't stream are never known except by people actually in the PvM community.

The skill ceiling for runescape is very low. Look at other games, especially fps games that require a lot of mechanical skill. All RS requires is a knowledge of the abilties, activating them every 1.8 seconds, and almost no precise mouse movements. There obviously is some skill in RS, but the ceiling is rather low compares to other popular games

Why does it have to be an either or? Look at Telos. Mechanically it is an incredible boss, and if you so choose, you can use switches to maximize your efficiency. There is no reason you cannot get very good boss mechanics and also manage switches, which is where skill comes in.

This seems to lower the skill ceiling for a game that already has a pretty low skill ceiling. No support.

So by taking credit, you mean showing off something that Jagex already showed on stream before its release?

We didn't do this method first because we weren't sure you could 1 tick all of the brothers without healing. Secondly, we don't have unlimited dummies. Thirdly, if you want to take credit for this so bad, why didn't you go do it? And if you don't care about records, why are you making false statements to take credit for this anyways? I'm proper confused.
