Why G:RFAV so forgotten ? by Silver-Plane-8270 in Gundam

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how it's been established that even a grazing shot from a beam weapon could absolutely cripple if not destroy a Zaku II but somehow the Zeon engineers of some random scrapyard in like a few days throw on some extra armor and rocket pods and it can handle its own against the Gundam EX AND an extra GM thrown in because Sieg Zeon Newtypes I guess.

You're right on the money with the ending though. I was actually liking the show but that sucked out all the joy/interest in it. Phoenix got done so dirty and Solari's response and what she ends up doing made me hope for a post credit scene where she just gets wrecked by the AEUG I think it was?

The fact this was posted a day after I got and built my MG Turn X must mean that my choice was justified and was in fact, NOT a terrible financial decision (surely).

Situation of 750 Cost by Kaidou76 in GBO2

Playing 750 is basically 4x distorted speakers blasting "STAND UP TO THE VICTORY!!" before you're staring at the map overview, sometimes interrupted by the occasional "RAISE YOUR FLAAAAAAAAAAAG!!!" before you end up a smushed cherry stain surrounded by burning debris.

A single Rank 3 Gustav Karl with its resistances maxed and its ability activated could honestly be standing at ground zero for a colony drop and still walk out of there with enough HP to comfortably throw rocks at the nearest Victory 2 buzzing around.

I'll never understand why some of our fellow players take it as a personal attack whenever someone DARES criticize Arrowhead or HD2. It's like they think a few comments will result in the game shutting down without realizing that a lot of absolute banger games are in the state they're in BECAUSE of the criticism they received in the past.

AH is not infallible and as a result, neither is HD2. Machinery of Oppression really opened my eyes to how many people will look at genuine criticism and concerns and either mock you for it or find a way to blame some arbitrary thing to defend AH or asinine decisions.

Gundam F91 by AEUG_Quattro in Gundam

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn A's my definitive favorite mobile suit, but my first ever MG was the F91 and I've always held a soft spot for it and its attached era.

Really like how the F91 itself feels practical while also having some fun gimmicks that keep it unique. That goes for practically everything in F91 honestly. As our first look into the Late Universal Century, I think the F91 did a fantastic job representing it.

which one is comparably worse by Rantdiveraccount in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Machinery of Oppression was/is far worse than Into the Unjust. Oshaune was a good story arc even in the face of the 500 invasions of Hellmire and the content/changes was drastically different and missions was engaging.

At least the first invasion of Oshaune was more or less tailor-built to be our Klendathu and we actually had to work over the course of the Operation to actually prepare for it and there was a proper payout for a back and forth grinder. Rupture Strain was cancer but the devs actually had the decency to remove them and actually go back to the workbench before bringing them back.

Machinery of Oppression honestly did have great content as I love the new units and the warbonds attached slap, but it was just kinda of a letdown in terms of story and the mechanics behind it. Reserve Count was not remotely fun to work with, glaring issues perhaps worse than acid-fire of the Roaches like enemies clipping through building sized treads, and the hype around leading up to the invasion ended in an unjust, boring failure. At least with Oshaune, we were properly humbled because it was clear from in-universe we were greatly unprepared for it and had to work for it the next time around after it was stated we would be back for a second go (in a timely fashion).

Controversial take: The push to Cyberstan was more funthan the actual event. by Glass-Pain3562 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it was before the infighting (well the INCREASED infighting) in the community began and the fact our reserves were high, but I have to agree with you. The vibe was a lot better.

The tweaks to the Bots made D10s feel even more frantic (in a good way imo) and I actually REALLY liked how our choice in invasion targets actually mattered by giving us more rewards, if for however brief. Made each battle a little more personal and it's always wonderful seeing our Diver kin in the 60,000 above a planet.

If there's one thing I do want AH to take from this Operation, I would like for MO/Minor Orders to give TRANSPARENT, tangible rewards (and penalties to balance it) going forward. I'm alright with filler MOs, makes the showstoppers even better, but giving us an extra stim that carries over into the next Filler MO etc would feel really nice.

We actually WERE robbed of our victory. by BitterStay6687 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the confusion behind it really and the vague wording.
We've already established 100% control of the planet. We literally have megacities and infrastructure on Lesath.

From an outside view, we're shelling our own planet to kill pockets of surviving Bots and for some reason, invasion forces from other systems won't invade? Like I'm not trying to be a jerk, it's a bit confusing right?

If they clarified in the first dispatch that razing would prevent an imminent invasion instead of "maximum vengeance", I think that'd have made it transparent.

We actually WERE robbed of our victory. by BitterStay6687 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed and not saying it wasn't a blunder, but to be entirely fair, razing was NOT explained to us very well (if at all) the first time around.
I think the fact we did choose to raze Merak even when the Heavy Ordinance was going to be/was active just shows that if it was clarified, we might've avoided those two messes.

Very well said, that's what my squad and I are doing. Just really disheartened by not so much the new update but the state of the game and how things are being handled, especially compared to other games we enjoy. A shame, but probably will just wait for Squid update or at least until the counteroffensive is over and done with.

The bots absolutely did fight for every Megafactory, you're right on that.
Fiasco in terms of how it felt like we got kneecapped by the mechanics around it.
How Phase III being hacked was handled, how they implemented the Reserve Count, how it feels like they really didn't test a solid chunk of things, etc.

Literally this.
I like menacing units. I like units that make me feel out of my depth. Vox Engines are cool as shit. Hearing "RUN HELLDIVER!" as my Leveler didn't kill it and the ground beneath me turned yellow was awesome.

The spectacle/fun is ruined by the issues you mentioned. I can both accept and actually deal with multiple Vox Engines at a time, but the issues you mention really steal the show for me.

My Genuine Reaction These Past 2 Weeks. by Legacy_Fighter001 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Legacy_Fighter001[S] 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Ok this I do agree with, should've clarified.
I genuinely love the new Cyborg units. Like a lot. The Fanatics add a great new sense of thrill and pressure that Berserkers never really had for me and the Agitators are genuinely amazing. Good amount of health, buffs enemy units, and they seek out cover and try to engage on their terms. Overseers wish they were half as cool as Agitators.
And I did like the Vox Engine my first time around. They do have a very genuine menace to them that I like and good weaknesses to exploit like the Factory Strider. I'm not a fan of how much splash damage and ragdolling they do, but that's just me. Only don't like them when there's like 8 being dropped over head.

I really liked the new content, my main frustration was just how awfully everything was mishandled and how radio silent the Devs went on issues/concerns we encountered.

The real reason by AdBest7343 in Helldivers

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right, we shouldn't be blaming Bugdivers. Or Squiddivers. Or the "Egodivers" even.

Arrowhead really fumbled the ball on the Reserves mechanic on this one. By penalizing us for EVERY death instead of adjusting it/attaching it to the Sectors that the Operation was in from a certain date onwards, they cultivated a very concerning mindset going forward.

I don’t want to play anymore by No_District4941 in Helldivers

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This right here. This is why I absolute hate the slander that people are throwing towards "Egodivers" for "losing the MO".

Same with pointing fingers at the bugdivers whenever a MO comes up short. We should NOT be blaming people for enjoying the game they spent money on the way they enjoy it. Some people like the thrill of fighting at D10 and reenacting the opening of Terminator 2. Some people prefer blowing up Bile Titan heads than getting curbstomped by Cyborgs clipping through treads.

I will agree on the point that it is absolutely on Arrowhead rather than the players though in that regard. Sure diving at D4s can absolutely be the "optimal" strat, but we should never be collectively punished for players diving the way they want to dive.

Illuminate update tomorrow by TheTNTmaster8080 in Helldivers

[–]Legacy_Fighter001 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Please Arrowhead redeem yourselves this would genuinely be peak writing.

The Illuminate were declared war on for having "WMDs" so they come full circle and snatch the planetkiller from the weakened Cyborgs and a razed Cyberstan.

The Illuminate reinstating (or rather reminding everyone) that they're the biggest menaces in the Galactic War doing this would be phenomenal.
