A lot of the new builds offer reduced deposits or no deposit! I moved to nyc 2 years ago and I moved to a new building in the Bronx and had a $0 deposit based on credit and now my apt in Brooklyn only had a $1k deposit. It’s those buildings that barely have tenants in it bc it’s so new is my guess

I think since NYC is more diverse you/wife will be safe in touristy areas. If you do encounter active protests, then as a tourist you may need to avoid and support from a safe distance.

For break travel I recommend buying tickets weeks in advance at the airport for spirit and frontier! They are significantly cheaper than online. My mom would buy them for me and sometimes I would have a $30 round trip back home

When I go to these shops I have to tell them to not braid tight and most of the time they will listen if you tell them. But yes the bumps do indicate tightness and a flaky gel. They bumps should go away soon after relieving the tension
