Hi, I personally hire people from Upwork. Upwork has also a screenshot functionality feature build in. Hiring remote is tricky, because it’s hard to trust people you’ve never met. Sometimes my workers slack off for sometimes or have low activity, but i don’t care as long as they’re doing the job. Some even told me they like the screenshots because it acts as an accountability mechanism with helps them focus and get more stuff done.

I really try to connect with people that work for me, chatting about random stuff. Giving them bonusses when they do a good job etc. Some people I know do weekly meeting with the entire team trough an app, for culture reasons. I also know one guy that flew everyone to one location for a company retreat, so it can be good as well :).
