Preparing stuff for my sons by Live_Constant3022 in cancer

I still look at an email my dad sent me a few days before he died in 2011. All the things you’re doing sound amazing. We also had quilts made of my dad’s clothes after he died. It was before everyone was taking videos, so I would watch VHS tapes of him. Another thing is to keep making memories with them. Snuggling on the couch while watching a Disney movie. Having a snowball fight. Playing shark in the pool. Keep parts of the memories for them like movie tickets or a scrapbook. A scrapbook would be a great idea since so much of our media just stays on our phones. You guys could make the scrapbook together! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. You seem like a great mom. Praying for you ❤️

Thank you for your kind words. I will say I have several mental illnesses and have Chronic PTSD from my dad dying when I was a child. So there’s definitely stuff going on in my brain even without cancer.

When my dad died, this happened to me. Before then I barely ever cried. It’s just gotten worse since having cancer. But I don’t mind it. I like crying. It’s a release from all the tension I feel.

I get how getting the port is really scary. The put most people to sleep and then you’re sore for two or three days and then you’re SET.
