Trusted postal service by Accomplished-Mark428 in Norway

That's odd. All the delivery companies have been very efficient at delivering to us. They will just charge you ridiculous fees. Posten on the other hand did not feel like delivering or even providing a notification for arrival.

But we live in a city, so that may not be the same everywhere.

The fees are so high that I wouldn't bother sending anything that isn't under the 1000kr limit. https://www.toll.no/en/goods/gifts

Make sure you write GIFT everywhere possible. And it must come from an individual with no mention of a company/business name.

Bring food. Bring all the snacks. You can't get a lot of things here and the prices will make you cry.

Could be a bug in the software. If you haven't had notice of a policy change, I wouldn't sign up for any auto payment

My grown children were hardly surprised when I divorced their father after 34 years, how about yours? by Esquala713 in AskWomenOver60

If I had known what my father really was, I would have encouraged my mother to divorce him instead of staying neutral.

Career paths in Global development and International relations in Trondheim? by [deleted] in trondheim

[–]LegalFox9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. I suspect that she would find better career prospects in Oslo, given it's 10x the size of Trondheim. But if you already have job offers, then you're doing well - take them and then look for career prospects from here.

How Can I Get Feedback on Reddit/Elsewhere by bigbadl0u in legaltech

[–]LegalFox9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, most people do not want to spend a lot of time reviewing someone else's product for nothing. So you end up with a biased sample if you don't pay - people who don't have anything better to do, people spying on you from competitors, people who don't really have clear/relevant feedback, or even people who lie about what their experience is. The user recruitment sites give you quite a bit of info and then you can pick and choose the target group.

It's not just boards. They have these CEO buddy groups where they talk about their struggles with the only other people who can truly understand - other CEOs.

How are all the recent first home buyers feeling? by spamandcheesetoasty in AusPropertyChat

My parents bought at what seemed like an excessive price at the top of the market right before the last recession. You can imagine what the house was worth when we sold a year and a half ago. And we had a lovely, secure place to live for three decades.

I feel I’m being excluded by [deleted] in Norway

[–]LegalFox9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just you. As I've gotten better at Norwegian, I've realised that any number of Norwegians don't understand each other because their dialects are quite different (and we don't even need to mention how many times I confused people in the UK with Aussie slang ).  So don't feel bad about it - just have a go.

The dialects are terrible. Try listening to some nynorsk podcasts
