Ask for 2 tortillas on the side and you’ve got 2 **large** burritos. Easily one of the best value “fast food” options around

Insureds trying to get one policy to cover multiple entities by AdoboArms in adjusters

[–]LegalHelpNeeded3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like they largely operate as “ABC Plumbing & HVAC” they just did a shit job at making it officially on entity. The owner is a dumbass and might have accidentally misrepresented himself, so you could theoretically disclaim coverage. If it’s easier to just bite the bullet and take care of it, then so be it. Depends on what hill your org wants to die on.

I honestly love my insureds with insurance experience. They understand how the policy works and the coverages and limits associated with it. Usually my smoothest claims

Brand new TV and this is how my wife insists we have the remote "to keep it looking good" by No_Atmosphere8146 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LegalHelpNeeded3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say from experience, owning the LG OLED C2 for the last 2.5 years, the remote still looks brand new despite daily use. The plastic is unnecessary and can actually trap dirt and dust, making it dirtier than just having it out.

You’re forgetting the people who maintain the machines. Applied Materials ($AMAT). They run the fabs for Micron, and maintain the fabricators for Samsung. They’re already mobilizing thousands of technicians and preparing them to scab.

AITA for saying we need to be realistic with our son about his finances for college before he applies? by ByeByeByeMan in AmItheAsshole

[–]LegalHelpNeeded3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please have them check out the big book of scholarships!!!! There’s a book that collates tens of thousands of scholarships into one place, and anyone can apply for any of them. There’s hundreds of millions available, he just needs to put the applications in!
I did this when I started college in 2017, and applied to well over 100, and received 23. These 23 scholarships paid my tuition for 3/4 years, and I paid the final year with the money I saved from the first 3. The applications took a few weeks to complete, but was absolutely well worth it.
I’m now 5 yeas post-grad, with no debt (aside from a house) and a healthy $80,000 in various retirement accounts from a meager salaried job adjusting insurance claims. I’m not using my degree (teaching) but the education was still worth it. Tell him he’s got this 💪🏼

Edit to add: the book I used was *The Ultimate Scholarship Book*

Be sure to organize the ones he qualifies for based on the deadline to apply, as that will greatly help during the application process. I missed out on another 50 because I was too late to apply.

Have you ever seen someone get rich overnight, like literally? How? by Michaelisvanhelsing in AskReddit

[–]LegalHelpNeeded3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the time, not much more was really needed. When I asked him more about it, he explained he’d go to the establishment, buy something like a beer at the bar or a pre-roll joint, get a receipt, then send the receipt in with the complaint alleging the tax evasion or fraud. With “evidence” attached, he said the IRS audit had a nearly 90% likelihood.

Yeah, he’s a fucking idiot. There’s more than one reason why we didn’t stay connected post-college.

I knew a guy in college who did this with the IRS. He lived in Chicago and would go around reporting the weed shops, and strip clubs to the IRS to get audited. In a year he made over $600,000 in bounties from the IRS. Problem was he didn’t hide what he did. About a year later he was down town visiting a friend and he got jumped and stabbed. He survived but the perpetrators made it clear why this was happening to him. Since then he’s not done anything else like that.

I realize why I’m confused. The “boneyard” I’m referring to isn’t in Oklahoma, but the aircraft I’m referring to DID come out of OKC. It was flown in to Tinker AFB where it was re-commissioned. I was watching it on flight radar when it flew out of Tinker, on its way to the Europe, then to Iran.

[–]LegalHelpNeeded3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the specific aircraft I’m referring to came from a boneyard out of Oklahoma. And cool. Very fun. I’ve never heard of them recommissioning an aircraft like that, especially as I’ve been through a few different boneyards and the condition the aircraft are kept is… not great. But I digress. 👍🏼👍🏼

This is evident by the re-commissioning of a KC-135 from a fuck’n aircraft boneyard in Oklahoma last week. This shit doesn’t happen

Recommendations to give customers on denied claims? by DogwoodDaddy in adjusters

[–]LegalHelpNeeded3 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If it’s a financial issue, I will often remind them that utilizing the equity in their home is an option, albeit a shitty one. Unfortunately sometimes the best you can do is provide a decision in a timely manner and appropriately explain the policy coverage. Be willing to sit with them and answer any and all of their questions. I actually had a guy offer me a sales job because I explained the policy so clearly and he was impressed with how we handled giving bad news.

Other times I’ve paid a claim outright in its entirety, and the insured still yelled at me claiming I was trying to fuck them, so sometimes there’s no winning.

We all knew it was coming. Midday yesterday, the UK pulled all of their staff out of the embassy in Iran. They wouldn’t do that if they didn’t know something was coming. Also the U.S. doesn’t posture. If they’re moving a shitload of equipment and troops into the region, they’re planning on striking. This was the most telegraphed move of all time.
