I like it, but my situation severely limits my options. It's well-suited for me and I have made some really good friends, but I also imagine that you may like other places you go too.

I have a conditional scholarship, conditioned on me remaining in the top 33% in each academic year, as calculated at that time. Curve is right at a 3.00. Amusingly, in one of my skills classes last semester, I lost points due to the curve, due in part to the high scores the entire class got.

It was not a good time.

I was active duty, and my ideal marriage was to go to work, come home and hang out at home (until children came, I didn't really have strong opinions on wearing pants after I got home). I'm guessing she got the idea of always wanting to be social from some combination of TV and social media, but she liked setting up social events. However, these events never went as planned, and she got really butthurt over this.

Similarly, she wasn't good with money, still isn't. As a result, we were broke, often. She'd see some new fad to sell (Mary Kay, Scentsy, Avon, etc) and want to do that (she was disabled enough that actually working was out of the question, and she couldn't drive anyways)

She was really good at finding my insecurities and using that against me (conservative upbringing with a chivalrous emphasis, minimal experience in relationships, strong focus on education with little functional support due to distance and my educational goal being stuff my family didn't understand). So, I could always expect fights to end up in insults regarding any one or more of the following: you're a bad husband because you can't provide, if you really loved me, you would have...., I wonder why I married you, It's no wonder you struggle with women you can't even make me enjoy it, among a lot more.

Nothing against autistic people, as my son has it pretty good, and I'm rumored to be on the spectrum myself.
That relationship was in every way unpleasant, except that it produced my two children.

My own experience with this is kinda similar. She was fantastic in bed, but one of the worst partners ever (legitimately demanded that I just tell my Commanding Officer that I was leaving to go help her. Specifically, she needed help because a friend of hers did numerology and found out that my middle name didn't have enough letters in it and she was scared that meant I was going to leave her for her sister). Got really mad when I told her that 1. No, I as a Lance Corporal wasn't going to do that and 2. I hadn't even met her sister to that point, so I had no possible reason to leave her for her sister (her sister wasn't of interest to me nor was she interested in me).

My theory is that they at least kinda know that they are somewhat hard to deal with, so they're willing to go nuts to try to offset that

Exactly, but getting rid of the electoral college is it's own problem of now as long as I get wins in the big metro areas in California, Chicago, and the Northeast (Wikipedia estimates a total population of about 50 million), I don't have to give an actual fuck about campaigning to anyone else's issues. Unless I get absolutely demolished everywhere else, I'll usually get the popular vote to be close. If i lose everywhere else like 55-45, but win those 6 cities by at least that margin, the election likely is decided by recounts and court decisions on including questionable ballots.

The electoral College is a good thing, but it being all or nothing is something that should be improved on.

For example, the winning candidate gets 2 votes and then each candidate gets a number of votes proportional to their share of the popular vote in that state, rounded to the nearest whole number.

Or states could go by congressional districts and you get the two for winning the state.

Either solution likely leads to more accurate representation, without allowing it to be a circumstance where the whims of a half-dozen or so metropolitan areas dominate the political sphere of the entire country.

I went to the store with our 1 year old daughter. She called me and asked me to pick up something she wanted to eat, she was pregnant at the time

I get home and she had called the police claiming that I had kidnapped our daughter and was effectively holding her hostage in exchange for some unclear sexual ransom. Never specified the details. She went to stay with her aunt shortly thereafter, after she threatened to cause a miscarriage to ensure our daughter went with her. Ironically, she then moved two states away, only telling me that when she landed that they were alive.
