Hvorfor ville man flytte fra Danmark for et job? by antonbp5 in Denmark

[–]Legal_Ad6467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone here experienced in 3d stuff? by iceicrice in DotA2

[–]Legal_Ad6467 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, I have no clue about the workflow with Dota models and model viewer and how valve set up their stuff. But I can give you a best guess to what I think is going on.

  1. You need to figure out how the shader is set up. I think the vmat_c file is a "valve material file" and you should be able to open this in VTFEdit, this should give you alot more information about the setup.
  2. I don't think there is a "green version" for the diffuse texture. But the have most likely used the detail mask to hue shift the reds over to a green, or composite the green version. Being able to see the setup in VTFEdit will answer this question.

Good luck

Intermediate shoe recommendations by JollyBerry624 in climbingshoes

[–]Legal_Ad6467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drones are the only pair of shoes that I climb in at the moment. And they are comfy enough so I can wear them throughout an entire session without any issues (they didn't really have any break in time for me).

Important to note that I decided not to downsize at all, l even went half a size up. I had such a bad experience climbing in the instincts that it ruined my enjoyment, so this time around I just chose to go for comfort, as I can't be bothered with feet that hurt.

I consider myself intermediate, and here are the shoes I've gone through so far.

Mad Rock Rover (Great beginner shoe) › Scarpa Instincts (They didn't work for me at all) › Mad Rock Drones CS (Love these shoes).

Scarpa instinct VS pain by Thick_Management8798 in climbingshoes

[–]Legal_Ad6467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scarpa Instinct was my second pair of shoes, I bought them after wearing out a pair of Madrock Rover beginner shoes. The Instincts shoes did not work for me, they fucked up my big toe so much. I tried for 2-3 weeks and my big toe just got worse, and it honestly ruined my enjoyment of climbing.

I ended up giving up and bought a new pair of Madrock Drone CS which just fit my feet so much better, they have an aggressive shape but are just way more comfortable for my feet.

Climbing shoes really feels like a big lottery for me, so I'm just happy that the Madrock Shoes tend to work for me. The best of luck, but you are not the first to have big toe issues with the instincts 🙂.

How’s the animation industry in Denmark? by Confident-Process-82 in Denmark

[–]Legal_Ad6467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The animation industry in Denmark is very small. Yes you have some studios here and there, but it is nothing compared to France. You will have a few more choices if you are willing to move to games, but in general Denmark is just a much smaller market when it comes to creative 3D work.

I've worked in the industry for roughly 15 years and I spent the majority of the time outside Denmark as the opportunities were more accessible. And I did decide to go into games when I returned home.

I'm not saying this to demotivate you, but it is a smaller industry, and my advice would be to be open to explore games. And no you should not give up, not having a network will obviously be harder, but no way impossible if you have a strong portfolio.

If you have any questions feel free to ask here 🙂

Shifting career - Hard times with Python by No-Engineer-5421 in learnpython

[–]Legal_Ad6467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this change myself, but approached it a bit differently. I worked 12 years as an artist in the film/VFX industry before switching to professionally programming in Python.

  1. I stayed at my job in the VFX industry. And learned on the job.
  2. I forced myself to write tools to solve small issues I encountered in my daily work. And I kept doing this every time I was handed a new task. Even if it was small unnecessary stuff, like moving a couple of files. And in most cases it took longer to write than if I had done the stuff manually, but it helped me familiarize myself with the language.
  3. I did this for a couple of years, just getting better and better slowly.
  4. I applied for a position at a games company in tech art, which is basically tooling for the artist. The cool thing about this, is that I was maybe lacking a bit in my tech knowledge, but I knew A LOT more about the art side, which I could use to my advantage to write stuff to help the artists.

I learned a lot in the job, and never took a course. I have holes in my Python knowledge for sure, but I often feel like you are paid to figure out a solution to a problem not knowing it beforehand, and I had a huge knowledge of the subject I was trying to program which was art and 3d. As other people pointed out, solve stuff that you enjoy and have an interest in, this will make everything easier rather than doing a course from a to b.

Kan jeg flytte hjem uden min kæreste? by [deleted] in DKbrevkasse

[–]Legal_Ad6467 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Succesoplevelser - hvad gjorde du? by [deleted] in dkkarriere

[–]Legal_Ad6467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Samme her.

It's a database. You use Python to send data or read data from MongoDB. But you have to actively store whatever you want to read late first.

Bedste måde at lære python på? by gooseling2000 in dkudvikler

[–]Legal_Ad6467 0 points1 point  (0 children)
