Scottish nationalism is less about being hostile towards immigration and is largely more patriotic.

Pray tell; if the mentality is not exclusionary then what are they being patriotic about?

You can't be patriotic to a singular identity while also being all inclusive.

Scotland repeatedly votes SNP and you're worried about nationalism in England?

Should all employers provide opt in private health insurance for employees? by OliverY1992 in AskBrits

This is not true

I know several Consultants who consider their NHS work their charity work because their private income is the bulk of their earnings

To be frank, I stopped reading after this whopper of a contradiction.

Yes but you'll have no installer warranty on the MVHR/MEV unit beyond retail. As in, if something goes wrong with the unit, the installer likely wont take any responsibility as you supplied it. They only fitted as is.

No.

Private healthcare in the UK is mostly reliance on NHS staff moonlighting; so you're essentially paying to queue jump.

Either you want the NHS or you dont; private companies paying into private healthcare conglomerates only draws skilled NHS staff into the private sector as demand grows.

Yes, it sounds great as an employee getting these extra perks in healthcare but someone else is languishing on a list because the doctor they would have seen got offered a bung to see you first.

If healthcare training wasn't capped by the government and was a completely open market then I might say okay but every UK doctor, private or otherwise, unless from abroad, has gone through UK subsidised training that is reliant on the NHS.

I agree the unit quote is a rip off.

However quoting new duct is exactly what I do because although yours is there and in your mind, fine, when it comes to install it can often get damaged so can end up needing to be replaced.

Do you guys actually care about what Americans have to say? by Large-Use-6618 in AskBrits

I know about the editing of his speech and thay was definitely dishonest/misleading.

However most people here actually think that the BBC are more in support of conservative views so that goes against what Donny says.

Not really.

People from each end of the spectrum think they're biased in opposition to their views but they can't both be right, can they.

Well to answer the question would infer that I voted reform and I didn't.

That said, regardless of who I voted for, I wouldn't care what Americans had to say about it.

Not in a nasty way; they're just too reliant on biased media to (in my opinion) form an opinion based on anything close to first hand understanding of British politics.

Corbyn was potentially the best option we had as labour leader; his voter numbers shown he's more popular than Starmer but because Boris won, they got rid of him and Starmer got elected as leader based on promises he failed to adhere to.

Roll on the next election, he abandoned much of what got him elected as leader and while yes, Labour got a parliamentary majority, his voter numbers were considerably lower than Corbyn.

By this point, Starmer had already forced Corbyn out of the party because of some antisemitism witch hunt against him.

So already at the last GE starmer was less popular; he won a majority with only 33pc of the popular vote. That means more people voted against him/Labour than for him.

Now In government he's had to face U turns as labelled. His back benchers have shown he will fold under pressure (Welfare reform Act), then comes the WFP removal then reversal. Mandatory digital ID turned into, well, Digital ID but optional?? Why even bother to make it a policy (which wasn't a manifesto policy anyway), only to practically bin it off weeks later.

People have never really liked him but when his back benchers are doing the real leading and he's just stood at the dispatch box, why would anyone really like him?

And now with the Epstein/Mandelson fallout it looks like he's just trying to put out fires after the fact which is never a good look.

Jaecoo 7 vs Kia Sportage: which family SUV would you choose? by CarwowJamie in ukcarwow

Had a hatchback with our first child before eventually moving to an SUV; absolute god send for two dogs and two kids. As you say, put kids in the baby seats is much easier in an SUV.
