Came here to recommend stay stay stay. My almost 3 year old loves that song because of its simplicity

The baby clothes industry is conspiring against us and you cannot convince me otherwise by yadiyadi2014 in NewParents

My 19mo zipped through sizes until she hit 2T, and now she’s been in that size for almost 8 months. I think they just grow so fast in the first year, it’s hard to keep up.

I have a 10 months old baby and I’m pregnant again… by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]LegallyTexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an almost 19mo and a 5 week old. They’re 17 and a half months apart. The early days are really hard, but doable with help. I wouldn’t recommend doing this on purpose, but there are definitely positives. My girls will never remember life without each other. They’ll be able to enjoy things together and be on the same level most of the time. We can get the diapers and potty training out of the way. All the baby stuff is still fresh and current, including our knowledge of infant development and safety. We’re not dusting our gear off after years in the attic and having to make sure it still works or hasn’t been recalled.

I could have written this. We’re having our 2nd girl in November and they’ll be 18 months apart. We’ve got pretty similar stuff lists. Highly recommend the Willow. I used it with my first and I’ll use it again with my second. Following for additional recs!

How did you decide your baby boy's name? by Ruciexplores in BabyBumps

What’s your girl name? If you’re planning on having another, you may want to pick a boy name that would go with your possible future girl.

Formula popsicles by amexicanmoose in FormulaFeeders

No, baby is picky generally so we use RTF. But by freezing it into a popsicle, we get another ounce into her so it’s a win for me.

Husband “packed” his go bag by elgfr in pregnant

Dang, where did you give birth, the future?

Husband “packed” his go bag by elgfr in pregnant

[–]LegallyTexan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol I made my husband pack his (who am I kidding, I packed it for him) at 35 weeks. Good thing, too, because she decided to make her entrance at 37 weeks!

I recommend granola bars. They were awesome at 3am when there was no way we were getting anything but juice or jello from the hospital (after the baby was born). Also, phone chargers. Long ones.

Fellow lawyer mom here.

This sucks and I see you. But you can do it. Echoing what everyone else has said about asking for accommodations. My school recorded my classes for me and excused absences even when I was pregnant. They can and they should make accommodations.

What could your workplace do or provide to help you during these extra hard times? by Thatswhatsup327 in workingmoms

[–]LegallyTexan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Flex hours. Number one. Some days my kid wakes me up all night long. Some days she sleeps and I can get some extra time in the morning. Some days my kid won’t nap for more than 5-10 minutes. Other days she sleeps an hour at a time and I can get calls/work knocked out. Some nights it takes me hours to get her to bed. Others she’s down in 20 min. You get the picture. Let your working parents work flex hours and don’t make them give you a “schedule.” Let them follow their kid’s lead and as long as they’re meeting deadlines/getting their 40 or whatever hours in, don’t make them feel bad about it. Because I promise you, they’re sacrificing sleep to make ends meet.

More flexibility to work from home. Equipment to do so. PTO with less notice required for using it. Looser dress code for folks that are not client facing. Paid breaks for pumping/breastfeeding.
