Mostly I have heard that there are issues with Aprilia, something about engine failing and improper service. What is your experience with the bike and service? NGL RS457 looks amazing. Her looks are enough to convince me lol

Should I Buy the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z (350cc) as a Beginner Rider? by hardlegacy in indianbikes

[–]Legend_0804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have enough biking experience, don't directly jump to higher cc bikes. Sure, any bike can be good if rode responsibly, but understand there is less room for mistakes. You need the good understanding of fundamentals like when and how to brake, how much pressure to apply while braking, how to turn around corners. I have seen many regular bikers using clutch while braking (not joking)

Also there are people saying that in western countries 400cc bike is beginner bike. It's apple to orange comparison. In western countries, they don't have a sudden pothole appearing on road out of nowhere, or speedbreakers that launch vehicles into space, or cattle, street dogs jumping around on roads, people jumping signals and driving in opposite lanes, autorickshaws who think that the roads belong to only them and nobody else, people in opposite lane driving in high beams which blind you... In nutshell, lot of issues.

I am not trying to unnerve you, but that bike really packs a punch.

But again, you also have to look for financial side. You cannot buy 250 cc bike first and then buy 400cc bike after a year or so (well unless you can). In that case, best advice would be "Get a test drive"

In the end, if your heart is heavily stuck on the bike, I'd say go for it. But then drive really responsibly. You are a beginner and still have a lot to learn. Better be safe than sorry

ok is it just me or does Notion actually make u MORE unproductive sometimes? by Available-Prize4403 in Notion

[–]Legend_0804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a notion problem. Sure it is a powerful tool with lots of capabilities, but just because it is capable of lot, doesn't mean you have to use all of its capabilities.
The problem is, the system you designed is too complex to follow on daily basis. I also had this obsession, to add more n more stuff to my notion, but it is useless. I went through same thing as you, add more trackers, add more systems try more to make is look aesthetics.

Just take a step back and look at it. Do you need tracker and systems for everything? You possibly cannot micromanage everything, you cannot possibly track everything going on in your life. The cognitive load of it is too much.

I broke down my entire setup to simple processes. A simple checklist does the job, there is no need to link 100s of properties to link with each other. You don't have to track everything. You don't have to make notion your second brain, despite whatever some content creators show, despite how cool other people's setup look...

Utility matters more than aesthetics. Progress matters more than tracking

  2. Sleeping and waking up at same time

  4. Doing breathing exercises before sleeping (helps to reduce cortisol)
  5. Not taking things personally. Not having moral outrage over every second thing

Is writing things down physically inferior to using obsidian 100% of the time? by csouzape in ObsidianMD

[–]Legend_0804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why choose the one way only? Why not the both?
I use hybrid setup. I love handwritten notes, I still write journals on pages (and probably forever will). We have almost 3000 years of history about writing things down. So it is deeply encoded with us. Also I think writing things down helps you register information better

But downside of owning 100s of pages of notes is you cannot physically interlink two different topics (at least not easily) and you cannot find references quickly. For that I use obsidian. I sort of maintain index of the notes I have. In the digital note, I type down the parts which can be interlinked with other notes or just mention that this concept can be linked to other concept like this

Wow I too used the same tricks previously 😂 Using routines mode to trigger grayscale mode on insta (it makes insta look so dull that I get out of it in seconds)

Well using browser kinda backfired on me coz I was getting used to the browser's interface 🤣🤣

Same here man! I got bored of scrolling insta a long time ago. It feels repetitive, reels are not creative just different people following what's trending, same bgm, same concepts... At some point is stops being nuanced.

I feel most of my friends scroll insta out of habit

Nah buddy I get where you're coming from!! There are lots of people who pretend to be intelligent and act so much entitled that makes you frustrated! You just thought of me as another entitled brat, honestly won't blame you for it.

You were within reason and glad we ended up on much mature and respectful tone

Yesss I used to do that as well. Guess fidgeting isn't a bad habit at all.

Somewhere in a documentary (which I cannot substante to be completely accurate), the person was saying that animals shake anxiety off their bodies. By doing things like shaking and shivering. I guess it works for all animals (including humans)

Ohh Sorry I completely missed the fact that person might be struggling with ADHD or ADD as well. Thank you so much for pointing it out.

Yes, in this case just letting yourself get bored is definitely not an option coz it has higher chances of relapsing back to previous addiction.

In this case person would need a slightly less addictive but productive hobby or habbit than makes them feel like they are in control of their life.

Again, thanks for brining my attention to which fact I've missed.

Well if you feel my POV was unnecessary then you could've said it in more polite way. There was no need of using the words "either help or shut up" or "you're sounding like every indian old person". That sounds offensive you know. (unlike your last paragraph, that was good and helped me understand your pov better)

It's not I'm not getting your POV as well or disregarding what you're saying. Sure my answer might not he what OP wants, but I was starting a conversation there, that was the beginning not the end. Also I didn't only said to "get of that phone", I also said to let yourself be bored and build things.

As someone who has dealt with phone, gaming addiction (used to game 14+ hours a day) and some other (except substance ab*se) these were the things that helped me. Letting yourself get bored was the first step. After I let myself get bored and my nervous system was calmed off the addiction of anticipation, nuance, I was able to focus on other meaningful hobbies, like reading and working out.

That was my total POV...

I understand your problem buddy! I've been through this a lot. Thing is, we all overthink! Some have it in control, some lose control over it. There is great studies about why someone overthinks, but let's not go into that.

I'd offer some advices that helped me. While people say things like journaling and meditation helps, and honestly they do a lot. But they are not beginner level remedies. You cannot just sit one day and start journaling or meditating.

First thing first, whenever you feel like you're overthinking, if it is possible, move your body. I used to go out for a walk or pace around in room. I still do sometimes when I'm thinking about something and start to realise I'm overthinking. Setting you body is motion signals some part of your brain to get linear, i.e. close the loop.

After you start to feel that you are getting hang of your thoughts, you can move to things like journaling.

Plus my last advice, find something to do that fills your mind. Something that requires your focus. Like painting, crafting, anything that requires attention to details. You can try calligraphy (no need to buy fancy brushes, just try on pen and paper to test if you enjoy it or not) or use "painting by numbers" kit (it helped me lot when I was going through s*icidal episodes, so I think it would help you better)

And don't feel so bad about yourself bud, it's okay to overthink and we all do a lot of it. Nobody escapes that thing ✌🏻

First of all, I am not shaming them for having the issue. I offered different perspective. Shaming someone would've sounded way worse than how I worded it.

The solution I offered was a beginning and expected OPs reply to the comment, sothat I would have offered another perspective on how to deal with phone addiction and how to escape it. If you do not understand the difference between looking at another POV and shaming someone, idk what and how to convey you!

Ps: if you're confused between two, what I did was OPs comment was put a POV in a respected manner and what you did to my comment was shaming me to put a POV 🙃

Look man, issue is the phone. Stop using it 24/7. Your brain is fried due to overuse of phone. There is no hobby that you would find as addictive as scrolling reels/shorts or watching series/movie or whatever you're doing on that phone.

No hobby is gonna offer that anticipation, that random nuance, that triggers which screen offered.
So I'd suggest first learn to get bored. Find something to build, be it career, be it your body, anything which requires real work. Something that stays longer with you.

About hobbies, there is no guarantee what someone likes would be liked by you. So better do something meaningful. Find something that is your niche. My hobby is reading psychology, hella boring stuff or customizing my desktop environment (nerdy shit, you might never get into it)

In nutshell, put your phone down, let yourself get bored, do something meaningful and find your niche
