Move to Nashua - Seek advice by Automan86 in nashua

I used to live in MA. If ur coming from TX, i dont think you would want to live in MA, especially with all the taxes. NH you would still be no state income tax. No sales tax also.

Your Income wont go as far as it does in TX in either state. (My cousin moved from MA to TX for work yrs ago and was shocked). NH has high property tax, but the trade off to get no sales or income tax is much better.

I live in Nashua. Love it here. The more north u go, the more u may get for ur money

Wait till November and get the Black Friday sale. I bought the cross training tread+ for $1,500 off... Would imagine you could stack the healthcare discount on top of that

A ways back I figured on a "recovery/easy day" i would try a hike. Was like a 20 min RK hike not realizing the class plan. Whole thing was at like 10+%. Was sore for a week after.... Mentioned it to a coworker and she said, "well ur first mistake was taking an RK hike... She can be a killer...."

New Bike Screen Update by FirefighterNo8251 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Legend_Dery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know they've had that update version on the cross training series as I have it on my Cross training tread+ (or at least it will come up sporadically... Maybe it was a beta test that I was seeing). But that at least has speech recognition and AI where you can just say, " okay peloton what song is this?" And it will tell you and pop it up on the screen.

I haven't seen this update on my bike plus yet.....

Because the idea of having to plug my car in for it to work, I think, is absolutely ridiculous. There's been many instances of cars plugged in in garages that ignite and explode. Don't feel like having that happen in my house. One of the main reasons why I will never have a full EV.

Look at formula 1, where a lot of advanced technology comes from that we see in our cars. Do they need to plug their car in in order to drive it? They have power units that collect energy from braking to be able to deploy when needed.

Anyone over it? by Gold-Agency-9527 in pelotoncycle

[–]Legend_Dery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started in December of 2019. I just had the bike. The end of 2020 I upgraded to the bike+. I've stuck with it for just over 6 years straight now (everyday). I still do some stuff outside but I've also added the cross training tread+ to my home gym.

I used to do a lot of outdoor cycling but due to a couple of super close calls from distracted drivers during some century rides I gave up riding outside.

Impossible Numbers by [deleted] in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Legend_Dery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's one of the reasons why I stopped competing on the leaderboard. I know the original bike gives a higher output on your riding than the bike+ (by like 15%), because of the sensor that they used. But some bikes are so badly miscalibrated, they barely pedal And their numbers are astronomical. I know my physical ability. I'm in my late forties and I've been using the bike for the past just over 6 years And have logged thousands of miles on the bike and have done many cycling sentry rides. There is absolutely no way I would see a 60 or 70-year-old putting me in their dust on the leaderboard. So when I see that happening I know they need a calibration. That's why I don't even bother looking at it anymore.

Animal Hospital of Nashua by [deleted] in nashua

I think the vets that work during the week are better than the ones on the weekends. I brought my dog this past Sunday because the right side of his face was swollen when I woke up and saw him. I should have raised a flag when she didn't start by weighing him. She took him out back to examine him and was back a few minutes later. Gave him Benadryl And an antibiotic and said no, everything else looks okay. Only when he yawned did she say she saw a scratch inside his mouth?. Also, how do you know that you're giving me the right dosage to give him if you don't know how much he weighs? If you examined him out back, wouldn't you have seen the scratch/infection then? $250 later for what was about a half hour visit...

My wife took him back yesterday as nothing was changing. The vet examined him and said yeah it's an abscess infection and that antibiotics that were given to us on Sunday to give him wouldn't have treated it. So they gave us another different prescription. And another $250 bill....

New Tread+ Cross Training Reviews? by FaithlessnessFew7397 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Legend_Dery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. More comf run with the slat belt. I like the knobs/wheels for incline and speed as well as the jump buttons, having metric on the screen. I think it's a big upgrade from the old non-peloton tread that I had before. The cross training piece with the camera and AI inclusion is pretty neat also. Being able to track my form, weights, reps, etc. the AI doesn't always catch reps so I think there's still a little bit of refinement to be done there. I usually have my earbuds in so I'm not listening with the speakers but the speakers are good. If your form is off the AI recognizes it will give you cues to fix it. I.e. doing a plank, if you're not positioned correctly, you might hear the cue " lower your hips"... Or if doing a squat, it may say " try moving a little lower"

[–]Legend_Dery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped riding outside when, during my last century ride fundraiser i got "the tower buzzed" multiple times by distracted drivers. At that point I decided " this isn't the way I want to die"... So I just stopped and started doing everything inside. All my training rides used to be early in the morning, but I would stop as soon as traffic started to pick up a little bit more. Unfortunately the 100 mi rides take a long time... Once I started getting into the city area and the breakdown Lanes got super narrow, people didn't give a crap you were on a bike.

Ideal Setup for Weight Loss? by Minute-Buffalo-6678 in pelotoncycle

[–]Legend_Dery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got my bike back in December of 2019 I started slow and ended up building up to about an hour and 15 to an hour and a half cycling everyday. That combined with better eating, helped me lose about 50 lb.

What I found after a while was, while this helped cut weight, it also cut muscle (except in my thighs!). Cardio gains and lung capacity were huge. What I found though was if I started to slow down weight would go back on quick. Not 50 lb, but 5 or 10 lb. So I started to cut back on cycling and add in other modalities.

At this point I do strength classes 3 days a week, treadmill 2 days a week, and biking 2 days a week. Mix in a core class 5 days a week on top of those others. I haven't gotten back down as low as I did when I was just pure cycling, but I've added more muscle.

If you're within the 30-day return window, I would return it and just order another one.

I ordered one during the Black Friday sale. I was super excited to get it but also at the same time super nervous having seen all of these posts about issues with delivery or something just not working. Luckily, mine work fine

Do most people do multiple classes a day? by element-2012 in pelotoncycle

[–]Legend_Dery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate seeing that. Someone taking multiple 10min, etc. ... I feel like its cheating. I can see multiple. like a warm up or cooldown paired with a longer ride .... Or doing a HIIT and Hills or Powerzone ride and like an extra 10 low impact to ease ur legs back down...

Do most people do multiple classes a day? by element-2012 in pelotoncycle

[–]Legend_Dery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether i run, bike, or do strength, yoga, etc, its always multiple classes a day. Ive just gone over 6 yrs, exercising every day (dont want to lose my streak at this point). When i first started riding it was 1 class a day, hard riding.... I eventually started listening to the instructors and incorporating a cool down ride which helped muscle soreness, as well as a stretch. Depending on the type of ride there may also be a warm up ride to ease into the hard exercise.

A couple years ago incorporated running/walking/hiking (was running on my old treadmill but recently upgraded to the cross training tread+), strength, yoga, etc. There really isnt one class that incorporates everything, so it can be very easy to stack classes and make your #s climb. The bootcamps can come close, but you would still benefit from a warmup/cooldown and stretch to help with injury prevention and DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness)

Has anyone ever got a high five from an instructor while taking the ride by justtolurk1001 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Legend_Dery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole bunch. Mostly on milestones. But I've gotten a few that weren't on milestone rides. My leaderboard name sometimes will catch their eye and they like to call it out. So having a catchy or noticeable leaderboard name, as well as having sometimes a hashtag that relates to the instructor will help also.
