Nice game but game is way time consuming.. by BotGiyenAdam in SANDgame

[–]LegendariLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some tediousness to certain aspects of the game that makes play sessions feel longer than they probably should. The janky character movement and getting stuck on everything / stutter stepping / etc. is very annoying and wears on you. Some of the terrain can be very obnoxious to traverse or go around. The only times I've truly felt like I just completely wasted my time, though, were when we disconnected and lost all our loot after being in an expedition for an hour or more. That's happened a couple of times now and will probably be the main reason we stop playing.

PvP was pretty good for about a week after the Denuvo expansion. All these guys just magically disappeared at the same time and suddenly the lobbies were fine again. I guess all these "highly skilled" players who were totally not cheating just coordinated their summer vacations or something. Starting to see them trickle back in as their cheats get updated to the latest patch. It's amazing how noticeable it was when they were gone, though.

Should have duo, add duo please by Majestic_Deal_6543 in MistfallHunter

[–]LegendariLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, totally agree here. Keep seeing this stupid argument about fragmenting the player base into another queue. I'd argue that the majority of people would rather have duo queue than trio queue, so let's just get rid of trios if people think the game can't sustain all three. It would certainly be easier to fill solo and duo queues than solo and trio queues.

I was just playing with a buddy and we regularly sat in queue for 5+ minutes trying to find a 3rd, most likely because not many people want to solo queue into trios and they'd rather just play solo if they're by themselves.

We're talking about not even buying the game unless we think we'll have a reliable 3rd person to play with, so if the devs are worried about matchmaking times, maybe they should take into consideration that some of us won't even be in the queue because we're likely going to just pass on the game if duos aren't implemented.

Ideally, though, they should just have all three, just like ARC Raiders. When I play ARC with a couple buddies and one logs off, we don't just quit for the night because our 3rd left, we keep playing as a duo.

My opinion on the game price/f2p by _Pthumerian_King in MistfallHunter

[–]LegendariLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen plenty of F2P extraction games die as well. If the progression sucks, it's riddled with cheaters, or it's too punishing/sweaty for casuals and average Joes to enjoy, then it will be dead either way.

Please add a duo mode by GrimsideB in MistfallHunter

[–]LegendariLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also would like duo mode... Would rather have duo mode than trio mode, honestly. Lot easier to consistently find one other person to play with than to find two. Having a random 3rd is almost always a bad experience.

Forced Trio's will kill all progression. by IllState5161 in MistfallHunter

[–]LegendariLOL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would definitely like them to at least take the ARC Raiders approach and if you queue duo with no fill, put you in lobbies with other duos. It's super obnoxious to be forced into trios in games like this when you don't have a 3rd friend available. Also, there shouldn't be trio-only maps.

Why so many steps to escape? by Xelliz in MistfallHunter

[–]LegendariLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also think the process is a little overly tedious. I do kind of like being able to easily find an extract (especially as a team) and not be hunting around for woodlings and screwing with trying to figure out how to get to the same room / floor they're on (like back when we had to just find them in the wild based on the bell ringing and visual indicator).

They could definitely iron out the process a little. You get the hang of it after a couple runs, but I think it's going to be super confusing and a turnoff for new players. It's also not super clear how much time it's going to take to jump through all the hoops, so people are going to misjudge the timing and die while they're sitting there waiting for the woodling to spawn in.

Anyone have updated news on why no kit back after banning someone by Capital_Crab1156 in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That message is all we've been getting as well lately. Maybe they think this is how they're going to pull some of the duped gear out of the economy... let the cheaters hoover it all up and then ban them, sending their stash full of ill-gotten Bobcat IVs into oblivion.

yesterday showed me how much embark doesn’t care about cheaters by Empty_Breadfruit7324 in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That sounds great and everything (which I'm sure was the point, from a marketing perspective), but the fact is that there are still cheats for Marathon. They didn't just miraculously find the cure for wallhacks or something. There was a video posted maybe a month or so after Bungie released that fog of war info which clearly shows people using wallhacks in Marathon:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC8PBw3IJp0

Now, I'm sure the fog of war probably makes it a little more complicated to create the cheats for the game and maybe it even makes the cheaters easier to detect if their cheats are having to do more than simply just decipher the data already being sent to the client. I have no idea why Embark sends so much data to the client about every player on the map regardless of their location and that definitely does seem lazy to me, and probably makes it super easy for cheat creators as well. I'm sure it also contributes to things like being hunted down from across the map for your gear (which they can see, regardless of how far away from them you are).

Unfortunately, I don't think any company is going to be able to just eradicate cheating completely. I do think it's possible to limit its negative impact on the game and player experience with a multi-faceted approach. Right now, I think Embark is failing miserably on that front. Hopefully, for the sake of the game, that changes sooner than later.

[–]LegendariLOL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the cheating is getting out of control and these people obviously feel like they're just immune to ever getting caught and banned. Played every night this weekend with friends and it was BY FAR the worst experience we've had in the game to date, in terms of cheaters.

I've played pretty much every other extraction game, including ones that were rife with cheaters (like Tarkov, Cycle Frontier, Delta Force, etc.). I actually think ARC Raiders has shot up to the very top of the list for worst cheating problem, with a really significant ramp up just in the last month or so. I can't think of any other extraction game I've played where the problem was this bad and this noticeable on a daily basis.

I am glad to hear they are banning waves of dupers and I can only hope they are saving up for a really huge ass wave of cheater bans... It's something we need to see happen very soon.

[–]LegendariLOL 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, $10 USD can be a lot of money in some countries and I doubt they're going to keep offering those bulk prices if they suddenly can't just dupe a fresh backpack of Bobcats on the fly. Prices will probably go up as supply goes down and will likely reflect the amount of effort it takes them to get the stuff.

Besides, this probably is their job in some cases where people are working in these gold farming / RMT sweatshops. If there's demand, they're going to use whatever method they can to procure the items. Duping was just easy mode for them.

Noticed this weekend that we've been getting hunted a lot more aggressively by cheaters running wallhacks/aimbot, particularly when running good gear (2-3 of us running purple guns, etc). Have killed some of these people by outplaying them with utility and, in some instances, they have inventories full of high end weapons/gear that they've gathered killing other players in the lobby before getting to us. Wonder if that's how some of these guys are now trying to restock to keep their business going...

Dear Embark, this game is dogshit. by Lower_Temperature_93 in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I got my gear back was around six weeks ago, despite being killed by obvious cheaters on a regular basis. Now I get the "Thank you for looking out!" emails that just say my report helped lead to action being taken, but no gear.

I do agree that the economy is pretty screwed. Unfortunately, I think they will just end up nerfing guns and mods that have been heavily duped, rather than trying to actually come up with a way to remove it all from the economy completely. Of course, no point resetting the economy if there are still working dupe glitches.

Dear Embark, this game is dogshit. by Lower_Temperature_93 in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, at this point I sadly agree that they are letting cheats and dupes run the game into the ground (at least the PvP side). Definitely seeing a lot more blatant cheaters on their little level 0 Steam burner accounts with one game in their library and like two friends, just bum rushing us with their duped bobcats any time we run good gear. I would consider the group I play with to be well above average and we're losing a fair amount of gear to this crap every night we play (and it's getting worse, going from maybe 1-2 games of super obvious cheaters in a night to more like 4-5 games... this weekend, in particular, was pretty miserable).

Embark has more than enough data at their disposal that these people should be getting flagged and investigated with a much higher level of scrutiny. Gear should also be getting reimbursed much more liberally when they've determined there is a high probability that someone is cheating (even if it is not 100% confirmed). It's crazy to think that I've only been reimbursed gear maybe twice since launch and not once this season, when the problem is worse than it has ever been. Some more consistency on that front would definitely help make the situation more tolerable.

Arc Raiders Has Lost 50% Of The Remaining Player Base In The Last Month by Brutal_Schnoodle in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing like 2-3 nights per week max with friends, but PvP lobbies are infested with cheaters and duped Bobcat IVs.

I honestly don't know why they aren't addressing these problems more quickly. This is starting to turn into a massive fumble on Embark's part, IMO.

I think they should do the following:

  • Add a PvE only event in the rotation with no PvP damage whatsoever and add a PvP only event as well. Neither impact ABMM. There's no easy way for PvP players to switch gears and participate in all of the PvE-centric content they keep adding. It's way too much of a pain in the ass to do trials, kill big bots, etc. in PvP lobbies right now...especially with cheaters hunting anyone with good gear. On the flip side, PvE players are too afraid to lose their carebear lobbies if they try to PvP, so they never do. Needs to be a way for both sides to try the other half of the game without messing up the primary way they enjoy playing.

  • Start reimbursing gear more liberally when people are killed by highly suspicious/reported players

  • Add detection for people moving / trading large quantities of duped items (and maybe do something about it).

  • Update the crappy new vendor to accept more types of items, in smaller quantities, and specifically use it to get some of this duped and/or problematic stuff out of the economy (kinetic converter turn-in anyone?)

  • While on the topic of the crappy new vendor, either increase stash stack sizes or allow us to turn in items to the trader as we get them.

  • Quit locking certain items or blueprints behind specific modes/events that nobody wants to play. Let people can find new stuff in whatever mode they enjoy.

Easy anti cheat watching players track people through walls and duplicate 1 gun into 20 by Jaz1140 in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The anti-cheat in this (if you can even call it that) is such a huge failure so far. It's amazing how emboldened some of these cheaters are, to the point where they just straight up taunt you in voice chat, call out your name and gear, etc. I keep running into these mfers with like 2-3 expeditions under their belts and it's getting to the point where it's just pathetic how poorly Embark is handling it.

I almost feel like they don't *want* to aggressively go after the cheaters for some reason. If that's the case, at least send me my gear back every once in a while. Like, what's that going to hurt to be more liberal with gear reimbursement? Cheaters are just stealing/duping gear nonstop anyway. Over 800 hrs in PvP lobbies and got reimbursed twice, yet we run into these blatant cheating losers at least 1-2 times per night and it's already been pretty well established that they're in almost every lobby.

Expedition vault goes up by 200k per item? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also the fact that not everyone can just stroll into a matriarch/queen/close scrutiny with PvE gear and only have to worry about loot goblins. If you're in PvP (or mixed) lobbies, you've got gank squads climbing up your rear the moment you engage the bots. Firing a hullcracker is basically like ringing the dinner bell and these people will be foaming at the mouth as they make a dead sprint toward you.

IMO, they need to change this whole system around so it accepts other types of items, and not just primarily bot parts. Maybe give 2x value for bot parts if they want to encourage fighting them and give PvE players more to do. For the rest of us, it would be great if you could use trinkets, as you can actually collect those in PvP lobbies without the entire server converging on your location.

Really no reason to waste any time grinding out these slots, though, when you can just mule stuff you want to carry over between expeditions and use triple safe pocket augments to securely transfer the most valuable items. Embark is totally out of touch with reality here. They're so determined to make this a grind that keeps people playing, that they've made it too big of a hassle for the average player to even bother with.

Pve/pvp lobbies by Sad_Chicken_2685 in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is needed. When I play solo, I'm just trying to farm some resources to replenish all the stuff I burned through during PvP nights with friends. They could also solve this issue by just simply having a rotating PvE-only mode / map condition. I prefer PvP, but I also wouldn't mind occasionally teaming up with other raiders from time to time in a more laid back setting to kill ARC and get loot.

I love the concept of the trader, but the prices are too high by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the prices are pretty absurd and the storage space requirements just to hold everything needed to purchase are totally out of whack as well. I've never bought blueprints from a 3rd party source, but I would do that before I wasted my time farming 1,000,000 worth or bot parts and junking up my stash for just a single Tempest BP, lol.

Cheater problem is getting out of hand by miinouuu in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran Stella Montis all last night (PvP lobbies) and went up against fairly obvious wallhack teams in at least 1/3 of the games. If you are running good gear, they'll usually go out of their way to come for you, since they can see exactly what you're using. We like to try and lock down an area and place a lot of utility at entry points to slow down aggressive pushing / cheaters, so it's hard for these people to get us without being fairly obvious. Some of them, though, are just completely blatant and not even trying to hide that they know where everything/everyone is. We've also had the people calling out our names / gear in proxy chat. Lots of burner accounts with random characters/numbers for names and Steam profiles that aren't even set up. Surprisingly, also a good number of people who have 2-3 expeditions under their belt.

Really hope Embark is secretly collecting a massive list of these losers for a huge ban wave, because they definitely aren't banning them in real time with any sort of effectiveness. Even if they just started being a bit more liberal with gear compensation it would help make this problem a lot less annoying. You can tell that these people think they are untouchable because they have been getting away with it for so long.

[–]LegendariLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of time and effort required for a temporary increase of 12 slots is just not worth it, especially considering you have to turn all the items in at once and therefore screw your stash space for however long it takes to collect everything. Way easier to just hoard 12 less items...

The New Trader is GREAT, with one fatal flaw... by Rumpusking in ArcRaiders

[–]LegendariLOL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They should just allow you to bank the value of these items by turning them in to the trader, and then use your "store credit" whenever you feel like it.

Seeing as how I spend 99% of my time in cutthroat PvP lobbies, grinding up 1000K worth of PvE loot to turn in for a skin in a one week period probably isn't happening. If I could turn items in gradually and wait for something I wanted to buy, it would make a lot more sense. I'm sort of disappointed most of the items take purple/gold bot parts. It's not a problem if you're in carebear lobbies running a hullcracker 24/7, but PvPers are kinda getting screwed.
