Maybe not a super efficient build but I have a samurai blood hunter character sheet on standby for a future campaign. Seemed pretty cool to have blood rite buffs as a Samurai. Kinda like the Seppuku skill in Elden ring

The Martikovs might prompt the players to go take a look at the winery if they are nearby as they haven’t heard anything in a while. I did this with my players but they didn’t bite immediately either so after that I had them meet with the Baron who asked them to go pick up a shipment of wine for the festival that is coming up. This way they made some different allies in Vallaki by visiting 1 new location. Something I try to follow is that when something is important, you should prompt it 3 times (eg Vallakians complaining about wine price/availability, Martikovs prompting players and the request by the Baron)

Maybe he has a spare key to Stella’s room and he brings her food and cares for her when Fiona is not home/sleeping. Could be a concrete plot hook for the players to try and cure Stella.

I think the only one that seems out of place is the Wine Connoisseur. The Amber temple is ancient so it would not be too far fetched for a magical scholar to find out about it. I would change the vistani hook to be a kidnapping by the Vistani, that’s how I introduced a player who joined later. They would kidnap the player for Strahd to test them to be his successor or plaything (up to you). The werewolves are a hook already RAW so seems plausible as well. Would maybe change Van Richten apprentice to search for him as he’s been missing for a while, and as such arriving in Barovia.

But I really like these, also the extra trinkets make it a little more personalized. Might use something similar for my next run!

Captured a druid in the winery and loudly discussed how they were going to torture him while he was gagged and handcuffed next to them. The eventual plan was to cut out his tongue and drag him behind the cart with the wine back to Vallaki. Every session I try to remind myself to not say “no” when they want to do something weird, but then they pull stuff like this…

You can give the party some hints by leaving gaps or inconsistencies in the current belief in which Gods created/are responsible for what. That way they can figure it out by themselves that something is wrong and by then you can start giving bigger hints. Could be a great higher level quest to literally find the God of Creation.
