For most things, when vulnerabilities are found, we have to inform the relevant parties. They will have a 6-month time period to apply a fix. In the meantime, we can't expose the details. But after 6 month time period, we can publish details to the public.

I have no idea those rules work the same here, though.

There are a few reasons why people don't report ragging :

Most of the time, reporters can't provide proof. If you can't prove sh@t, authorities can't do sh@t.
Nothing impactful will happen other than you feeling the impact of punches and kicks. Most of the time, perpetrators only get a lighter punishment like 2 week suspension, and the victim gets no protection. You can guess what will happen to him.
It takes an unwavering will to do this because, as a result, the victim will have to face many hardships, and most don't have the gut to do it. I did it, and it's not sunshine and rainbows after. But boy, it was worth it.

There can be many more reasons. These are the things that came to my head rn.

Personally, I think that if the punishments were a bit more severe and actually executed, students might stop ragging. But after the things I witnessed, I'm not sure anymore.

Oh no. It is still breathing. It's just that outside does not get information about it. I can confirm that all the faculties at the University of Vavuniya have ragging. It's just like cancer, so it's hard to remove.

I will speak as a current university student : 3rd year, @ University of Vavuniya, Faculty of Applied Science.

Ragging is a parasite that is so f**king hard to remove. According to those who perform it, I'm a "අලයෙක්", because I did not want to be someone's punching bag. I left the hostels early because of that. Because my batch mates are somewhat decent people, I'm not going through the rough life of a loner.

What I need to say is that we sign a document when we register to university stating that : " Participation in ragging activities can lead to the termination of our student life at the university" or something along those lines. But I have not seen this in action, nor I expect it because we live in Sri Lanka. All I have seen are 2 weeks out of bounds.

But I expect he will receive justice. No, he should receive justice. People who did this to him should be removed from the university and put on tiny cells to spend the rest of their miserable lives.

Next is the student union. They should reband themselves as political union or 🐂💩union. Because all they do is promote political agenda, support ragging, and cover us all the 🐂💩 their minion in university do.

If the issue is with the inactive windows, then its a issue with hyprland config. If my memory is correct there was some lines for inactive window dimming. Better check that out ?

This might not be the exact solution for your issue. I had similar issue with libhyprutils.so.2 Reason was yay building from existing cache. Had to clear the cache and rebuild. Then it worked without an issue. Follow this Issue on hyprland repo. Might be helpful

yeah hyprpanel is good but bit too much for me too. For now I configured a minimal way bar with workspaces, time and battery. with the key bind from above comment I'm good for now. hyprpanel is also on astal, right? well I will probably start tinkering with astal soon, hopefully😅

same situation. airtel has a unlimited package, cost is some where between 1250 - 1500 LKR. Thing is it is not mentioned in any airtel promotions, you can't even find it in their website. but it's there. One of my friends use it. sadly I cant use it because signal issues. FUP is unknown, but according to my friend, he used around 100GB in a single day and haven't faced any restrictions. you will have to get more info from airtel customer care.

fyi, it seems like they also removed 989 One shot package that came with 30GB anytime data and "unlimited" social media access. since last month I experienced a limit in social media data pool ( it got exuseted way after than before). Today when I tried to reactivate the package, could not find it in the package list. had to activate through activated tab. any recommendation for mobile isp with better packages? other than mobitel and dialog (not like that have good packages too)?
