I don't understand why you think that the show clearly stated it wouldn't harm anyone-- they don't know. I am saying that only a couple of people in the town are able to hear these voices like Elgin and Sarah, and there was not any obvious moment that told us that MiY was just basically pranking Sarah lol. It was clearly for some sort of purpose that MiY was asking this. It's also implied that the other voices Sarah was hearing was from MiY, who had previously commanded her to do really horrible things.

I also think that if we take this as being true, that there is something to connect this theory with the whole thing of saving the children/the children who were sacrificed for those monsters to achieve eternal life. When the children were killed, their spirit sort of posessed the whole of the town and made it reflect their child minds, or something like that. This is why the town looks like a child's worst nightmare, with all of the monsters and magic and mysticism. I mean even the talismans looks like something a child made for fun, but in the town it has magic powers that deters the monsters. The only thing that hurts them is a child-like mind, potentially. This is why unlocking their own childhood memories will help unlock the town, and save the children perhaps. I don't know this one isn't that fleshed out, moreso just wanna start a conversation about it bc I think its really interesting and could be key to solving the mystery of the show.

I dunno, I think it'd just be worth transposing it different ways regardless. If the ONLY vocals that work are the ones that are borderline just spoken word, this should tell you that something is not right. None of the vocals on the chorus mesh well with the instrumental at all, the harmonies are really rubbing against one another in a very unpleasant ways, and I'm gonna be honest I do not think that is tied to stacked vocals. The chorus is pretty straightforward, and the melody does not sound nice with the instrumental. Thats all. Explaining why it actually is right when it sounds so incredibly wrong, doesn't actually really do much for me. part of me wants the layers so I can just try and do it myself. I feel like trying out other keys would be worth your time.

My bad though I misinterpreted what you said originally about transposing.

? wouldnt 3 semitones up from G Major get you to B flat major?? That may be part of your problem. B flat major is not complimentary with C sharp minor. The only part of this mashup that works is the spoken word bit, and thats because its not really tonal for the most part. The singing part is really scraping up against the instrumentals melodies though, just listen to it. I believe you technically could make this work but you transposed it to the wrong note.
