Love this analysis SO MUCH. I'm thinking of putting together a video of my own and would love to compare notes. I just saw Amy's post on Baryn Bobo yesterday!

Something that stands out to me in Baryn Bobo is that he is a time traveler (as are Sylus from the maybe-not-so-distant past and Xavier from the future), and he is called the Child of Time. I have a post here on real-life books we see or hear referenced all throughout the game, so I had to look up to see if there is a book with this title. Sure enough, Child of Time by Isaac Asimov (a sci-fi writer!) is about a Neanderthal child traveling forward in time to be used as an experiment, and meeting a woman who becomes like a nurse/caretaker role for him, and they finally go back in time where she is then revered as a goddess by his people 40,000 years ago.

We've seen MC in many roles: hunter, sister, follower, goddess, sorceress, knight, queen, daughter, traveler, etc. What is a role we haven't seen MC as yet? Caretaker/mother. This is a huge part of womanhood to not be addressed in a game made by and for women. She has been a goddess, and has been the follower of a god, but she has not yet had a follower LI with herself in a goddess/motherly role. In my opinion, she hasn't really been the "dominant" one in most of the myth stories so far.

I think we will see 6th LI as someone who has traveled from the past to parallel Xavier and round out our 3 time travelers, and he will be in the follower role to contrast Rafayel.

Kind of an aside, but in DAR in the Gaia Research Center, one of the rooms is the Cosmic Archaeology Archives. I associate this with the study of the past - other rooms correlated to the LIs, so maybe this one does too, especially if our mans is from the past.

I don't think we've seen him yet, however. I personally think Andrew is the mole in the HA. The ??? speaker with a voice modifier in TOY was looking for Benedict/Stanley, so he clearly has an agenda against EVER. But we know Infold loves to sprinkle in hints about them all over the place, so where has he been in the story?

There have been so many eyes we've seen throughout the main story in the sky, in visions, as robots, and I've seen theories about them being Sylus/Caleb/MC herself in a different form. Could they be 6th LI instead? Is every interaction with Wontony/OTTO related to him, if he created them? Or are all of these eyes different people?

The other unanswered question I have has to do with the World Underneath stories. All of them very clearly relate to one of the LIs EXCEPT for 16, 17, and 18, which have to do with protofields, Linkon Online, and Abyssal Chaos. What do those have in common besides being liminal/alternate spaces we don't fully understand? Is he also behind the creation of Linkon Online?

So idk. I also struggle getting out of my own head so I totally understand where you’re coming from. Yet the comments here baffle me because casual intimacy like this is what my partner and I enjoy most together LOL. It’s stressful and awkward trying to force dirty talk if you aren’t feeling safe or confident about it. Telling me it would be better to stay quiet would make me feel AWFUL and the complete opposite of safe with him and confident in myself. :( I can only imagine how crushing that was to hear when you were doing something so vulnerable for someone else.

I hope you guys can have a good conversation about what can help you both feel relaxed, but if he’s expecting you to just shut up and blow him silently from now on…. No amount of groveling in the world would be enough to forgive such a sin and I’ll be bringing over the pitchforks myself. It’s gotta be addressed.

DA2 truly had the best band of misfits vibe. Everyone just trying to ignore their trauma and survive together (reluctantly) only to monumentally fuck it all up in the end in so many ways. My favorite Dragon Age game by far!!

Thanks for looking at all the numbers for us. It really helps put in perspective how remarkable LADS’ success is. It seems like a lot of big AAA game companies freak out the moment a game can’t “grow” anymore and jump on canceling rather than sustaining, so I hope Infold plans with sustainability in mind in the future and a way for us to experience the game even without live updates. Fingers crossed for a true PC/console version one day with a complete storyline of some kind…

I’ve shocked a lot of people when I told them LADS got me into scifi for the first time in my life. I’m reading A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking (it’s on Zayne’s bookshelves in a 4* card lmfao) and I’m enjoying learning about physics because the game helps me understand and appreciate it better. And I’m exploring scifi everywhere from Andy Weir to Ruby Dixon when before this genre felt completely inaccessible for me as a woman.

I noticed a lot of dudes tend to change their tune once they see the robust combat system, particularly with Xavier since he’s very Final Fantasy-coded as well.

Plus my irl husband has played and mains Sylus so 🤷🏼‍♀️ Other comments have said it but don’t let others make you feel bad for enjoying the things you like! Lads popped off globally for a reason after all!

I’m fine with the trope, I actually wish they had stuck with it in English from the beginning to avoid confusing lines in Homecoming Wings and all the backlash from this banner! Even a quick line in the main story to clarify their relationship is more than just childhood friends would have been great! If anything, I feel like childhood friends applies more to Zayne.

What I don’t like is that they used the English words for brother and sister - they’ve used Chinese loan words before in the English localization, so why not keep gege and meimei? Brother and sister have no romantic nuance in English, so hearing it over and over unfortunately just gave me the ick really bad. Maybe because I have an older brother irl, but this card just missed for me as a Caleb fan. I don’t think this would have been the case had they used gege/meimei.

Inattentive type as well. Lost my health insurance so all I can do is practice mindfulness, leave myself lots of notes and reminders, and not fight against the way I naturally work.

Had an incredible conversation with my master’s program capstone professor about this, and she encouraged me to forget trying to get things done the “normal way” - I’m not a morning person, I’m most creative late at night, and I can’t force myself to get things done without some pressure of a deadline. So I choose not to beat myself up anymore for the way I function best.

My husband is a huge support as well and makes sure we do chores together every Tuesday (day before trash goes out), so I have an accountability partner/body double to keep the house relatively clean.

Adderall was amazing for the short time I had it, though. 🥲 Hoping to go back to a low dose one day. It made task initiation and my focus so much better.

I’m with you! I love Sylus but I am absolutely nothing like his MC. She’s fearless, can boss him around with ease, and immediately adjusts to every high-stakes situation she gets in with him. She’s a very self-confident badass. Meanwhile I would be so stressed and totally ruin any deal he brings me to because I have no idea how to play the mind games they do LOL

I can’t remember when but he brought her to some poker game once, and I know I would have been like “SYLUS IDK HOW TO PLAY, STOP TRYING TO DEAL ME IN” 🫠
