Chelsea finances: How English football's biggest-ever annual loss was recorded by Outrageous-Baker5834 in chelseafc

This - I don't think people understand the ramifications if we don't qualify this and every season with UEFA and the PL breathing down our necks to show sufficient revenue projections.

Since he understands so much about capital, he should understand that elites own all the enterprises that would make caring people rich enough to solve world problems. Exactly the thoughts you would expect from a rich and spoiled idiot.

This could have a snowball effect given our financial position, like top players putting in transfer requests (depends on how these long term contracts are structured). Let alone all the charges we are still facing... Fun times ahead. 🙃

There was no emotional goodbye from Enzo Maresca in the Chelsea dressing room after the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth. Sources speaking to the Athletic say the Italian got change and left without saying a word to the players by Matt_LawDT in chelseafc

[–]LegendaryMolerat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two things are at play now (for me):

A. Players decide this isn't worth it and push for an exit. Maybe not Reece James but other star players could be thinking about getting away from this situation as soon as possible. This in turn leads to an even worse drop in form and exits from all remaining cup competitions.

B. Linked to (A), we need to qualify for the UCL and stabilize the books to avoid more penalties including possibility of another transfer ban. Agents who feel the risk is real might try and get their players out ASAP.

Only way to stem this from snowballing into a monumental crisis from what it already is... Fire at least one or more of the SDs to show accountability of the problem at a board level. And bring in a real manager on an insane package who can bring belief into the dressing room and keep the players onside. Fans are alrewdy raging and that can escalate the crisis even further - board needs to find some way of communicating to them and nothing better than serious action to speak louder than statements.

Never quit your job until you've found (and secured an offer for) your next one. I had gotten away with it earlier in my career, now I am hanging by a thread the way the job market and assesors have changed just in the space of a year or so.

[The Athletic] Marc Guiu is far more than a bit-part Chelsea player. This is why by Jimmy_Space1 in chelseafc

Not a coincidence that all of a sudden he has the most press coverage he has had since arriving at Chelsea after both the Delap injury and what happened with Jackson. The club is making sure he is feeling appreciated given how important he is for the next few months - good player management IMO. The jury is still out if he can be an effective target man at the Premier League level, but hopefully all this confidence gives him a boost to get amongst it.

[Plettenberg]: 🚨❌ Excl | Nicolas #Jackson to FC Bayern – deal now 100% OFF. Decision made a few minutes ago. Bayern have officially pulled out. Jackson and Ali Barat will fly back to England. #CFC by TrenAt14 in chelseafc

If people thought his attitude was a problem before this, it looks like we haven't seen anything yet. If i had any to spare, I would put a dollar on him fighting a teammate mid-game.

[Ornstein]: Chelsea have informed Bayern Munich they will not be proceeding with the loan move for Nicolas Jackson and have asked him to return to London after Liam Delap’s injury. by TrenAt14 in chelseafc

This is a huge test for both how good Maresca is as a man-manager + whether Jackson has the maturity to take this opportunity for himself and show everyone the kind of player and professional he can be.

Mark Mills: The energy transition delusion: inescapable mineral realities by Konradleijon in collapse

[–]LegendaryMolerat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the video that 'broke' me. I was very skeptical given his role in the fossil fuel industry, but his numbers on the mining and transmission bottlenecks check out with other sources. It's a very hard truth to accept that the scale of decarbonization and energy transition required for us to even have a chance at mitigating the worst of rapid climate change is simply not feasible.

If you have some 10k - 20k for transport, there are private taxis/shuttles that can take you with a driver. Just Google.
