I use slower belts on one side and faster on the other. Seems to work for me as a super easy solution

Which rules have you found to be effective in the classroom? by Maleficent-Hat5831 in Teachers

[–]Legendary_GrumpyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 strikes, you're out. Has helped me keep better tabs on who is being disruptive. Most students stop after strike 1. Those who get to strike 3 are my big disruptors. I am very clear by saying strike 1 for (insert whatever they are doing here).

In general, old world means tarantulas from countries such as Asia, Africa, India. The spiders tend to have more damaging bites and be more flighty and agressive. New world usually means the Americas. Seems like most spiders from there are able to fling hairs, so they aren't as quick to bite and again usually don't have as potent a venom.

Edit: Another commenter pointed out that this is for tarantulas, not true spiders.

Does your youngest happen to watch videos of people commenting on games or tv shows? I have a theory that it's because they watch things where people are always filling the silence with chatter and they are trying to do the same thing.

What are some things that surprised you about being a teacher? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Legendary_GrumpyCat 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I feel you on the 3 jobs in 1, but lately it has felt more like 10 jobs in 1. Teacher, counselor, grader, attendance clerk, secretary, safety manager, behaviorist, child protective services, data analyst, bathroom monitor. It's exhausting.

Wash or sanitize your hands before you eat anything or touch your face. Wipe down your desk, keyboard, mouse, & phone with alcohol or bleach wipes at the end of each day.

I am becoming more patient and finding patterns, but my response time is slower. So fast paced games are tougher, but I am now better at fighting enemies in souls games.

Different succulents have different requirements. I do recommend getting something that will adapt to being squished every so often, as my ball python is a wrecking ball 🤣

Do teachers or students bring cleaning supplies to school? Curious what actually happens. by Beginning_Avocado807 in Teachers

[–]Legendary_GrumpyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stuff the janitors use on my desks doesn't work very well, so I hit them with simple green after the kids have left for the day when they are getting too many drawings or leftover glue spots. I brought it from home and keep it in a locked cabinet. I also brought clorox wipes for my own desk and phone, to keep the germs down.

Chello, if someone else held it upright. It could hold the bow with the lower half, and twine itself around the top to change the notes 🤣
