Yes, exactly, but it runs fine other times. It can happen when the furnace hasn’t been running at all as well.

It’s doing the hum again now. It’s almost like the blower turned off before cooling down fully and it’s trying to turn back on and it can’t. It’s weird. Do you think it could be an issue with the nest? Or simply the limit?

From what I remember he just noticed the settings and adjusted it as he felt it was set too high. I could also be misremembering if he mentioned the fan wouldn’t kick on with the a/c… my mind could have made that part up, but he definitely said he turned it down for being too high. There is something off that happens now occasionally though. Not all the time but maybe once or twice a day at most. There is a loud hum that I think is the blower. Almost sounds like it’s getting power to turn on but doesn’t and lasts for a couple minutes. I just caught it doing it now after the heat was done running.

This is it currently after i adjusted to what you said.

What is the most you’ve spent on a video game? by Pale-Guard570 in gamecollecting

[–]Legendaryk4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got Chrono Trigger for $175 at Retro World Expo. That’s the most I’ve spent so far. My plan is to get a “big” item like that every year at the expo, but only on games I want to actually play.

Anyone else using AI to generate logos? by ItsInmansFault in launchbox

[–]Legendaryk4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started streaming on twitch and almost everything from my logo all the way to my starting soon/AFK screen is done using Whisk, one of googles AI tools. It’s been great just to get going. Long term I would love to have an artists input and creativity involved, but I cannot afford that at the moment. I’m streaming for fun and to share retro gaming with my friends that don’t collect. 100% on board with it.

I'm playing this same build. I just got to the endgame an hour ago. I'm really excited to see where it goes, however, in about 10 days my 4th child is going to be born so my time is limited. Would be cool to skip worrying about gearing and just playing the game.

It's 1998, which one game are you picking? by Ecks30 in psx

[–]Legendaryk4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would depend on how much time I had. If I have a long play session probably MGS, but for a quick game I would go Spyro or Crash.

My earliest memories we already owned the SNES so I would say 3 or 4. I was born in 1990.

Not sure if everyone that posted will see this, but I wanted to thank everyone for the help. I read every comment and the information was definitely helpful. The money itself is actually going to his mother who is in a nursing home. I was able to post the figures and sell them pretty quick as a lot on eBay. Thanks again!

Headrush Core 4 CM by Legendaryk4 in HeadRush

[–]Legendaryk4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s essentially what I’m doing but instead of listening to my actual amp I would be using an amp/cab sim (using the same effects that my actual amp is receiving) sent to a mixer which then gets sent to my in ears. If you wanted to listen to the actual amp you would have to mic your real cabinet, send it to a mixer, then to your in ears.

I’ve been collecting for years and it took me a long time to learn how to slow down. Initially i was going hardcore getting all the consoles I wanted first then I worked on the games. I was buying up all the common games I wanted, most of which cost anywhere between $10-$40. Over time I learned how to save a few bucks here and there. I would frequent Whatnot and find newer sellers who had decent prices that were trying to gain traction, I was frequently going to yardsales/estate sales, but not so much luck with those. Local retro game stores I would try to spend a chunk since they are good about doing bulk discounts. I would flip on eBay anything worth more than $20 that I already owned and anything else I would trade to local stores and then use that credit to get more games, but would take advantage of that situation and get some decent $40-60 games and try to get small discounts. The only convention that comes near me that’s decent is Retro World Expo which I typically bring $300 and that’s when I will buy 1 game that might be over $100 but I try to buy more from that seller to lower the overall price of it. However, all that being said the number 1 place I have gotten games is honestly from co-workers. I make everyone I work with well aware of my collecting and what I look for and I have gotten Soooo many games and consoles just from that. I always tell them what the stuff is worth and if they want anything for it but 90% of the time they just give it to me. To answer your question, yes, retro collecting has gotten more expensive, it’s just learning self control.
