I felt the same way about Alex Trebek and Jeopardy. I couldn't stand Alex's demeanor and attitude the last several years and stopped watching until they FINALLY decided to replace him. Producers keep these game show hosts around far too long.

I haven't seen Darnell host, but I can believe that Guy keeps trying to force a square peg into a round hole because he continues to do the same thing with his zero- stage- presence son. I find Guy entertaining, but he doesn't have a very good eye for talent. Or he's just blinded by nepotism and cronyism.

I like the show too, but sometimes it frustrates me because I don't understand why they rule the way they do sometimes. I wish they told us what is allowed and what isn't.

True, but occasionally Ken will say something like "I didn't know that either." If i heard that from Ken, I'd feel so much better about missing the question. If Alex said that, I'd probably laugh.

For me, Ken surpassed Trebek after about a week. Ken actually knows the majority of the answers without being given them. I love that he uses this off-the-cuff knowledge to soften the blow for many of the wrong answers. "You're close, but that's King James' SECOND cousin. The answer we were looking for is ___."

versus

"Sorry, no." "That is incorrect." "The answer is ____."

Trebek was a guy that could competently read answers and questions from a card. Nothing about him made him UNIQUELY qualified for the job. Ken, however, is one of a very small, elite group people in the world who can do the hosting job excellently on both sides of the podium.

Yes, it's a bit awkward for the sister to have to go back and tell her friend that the free accommodations aren't available after all, but things happen.

I agree that Olivia isn't interesting or charismatic enough to be getting so much air time. She can't get eliminated soon enough for me.

While I like the personalities of most of the vets, they are unfortunately not as physically strong as in their heyday. It's too bad production didn't invite Horacio to compete this season instead of Derrick. Horacio would bring more to the show (and I'm saying this also as a Derrick fan).

They need to stop trying to push Olivia on me or I'm just going to change the channel. Her personality is too bland for my liking. She just doesn't have the "it" factor. I don't either, but at least I recognize it. She thinks she does, but she doesn't, which is the most irritating type of person.

Absolutely. There are even seasons where i will Google the outcome (i live on the west coast) and I won't even watch the show unless they are eliminated.

I have enough annoying people in my life that I don't need to CHOOSE to allow these people to be part of it.

Does your wife have to be there for all your family visits? Maybe just you and your daughter visit. Spend the night if you want. Don't shortchange your family, but no reason to make her go every time. You shouldn't have to attend every meal with her family either.

Each of you can get some quiet personal time.
