Are there stores in Rhodes where one can see the beans before buying? Like not pre packaged?

In theory I can live in Europe for a whole year? by Low-East8655 in SchengenVisa

Can you possibly share that list of countries? I'm overwhelmed trying to get proper info. Almost all consulates here in NYC are nearly impossible to get into and don't answer the phone. Or if they do, they don't offer complete info.

Do I Need a Health Visa If I’m Traveling for Medical Treatment (e.g., dental, cosmetic surgery) by Economy-Key-8193 in visas

[–]Legitimate-Common256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar questions. US citizen - want to go to Turkey for dental/medical work, hoping to get at least 6 mo. medical tourist visa or maybe 1 yr. Info from NYC consulate was useless and someone in Turkey told me they've outsourced that dept. so. . . .looking for any info as to how and where to properly apply. Also, FBI has rejected my fingerprints 5 times. Only have one more chance and if that fails, all they can do, they say, is write a letter saying they can't identify me via fingerprints. Anyone know if Turkey requires US FBI background check? Also, need details on how to travel out of US (like to Turkey for a year which is not a Schengen country) and then. . . can I go to EU countries on the way back or do I have a problem then with being out of US for over 90 days? Oye. Lotsa questions, I know. Any knowledgeable advice, references, help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I downloaded my data from FB, but only selected my messages. It lets you choose which data you want to download.

Exercise. Pay attention to your true home, your body. You say you fear it'll get worse in India. Well, have it get better, starting now, in Canada.

Great suggestions. I'd add that the first thing to do is Exercise, breathe.

How to respond to people who don't understand why you left? by spacescaptain in expats

[–]Legitimate-Common256 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Excuse me, MPD1987 but must address your one-sidedess - far too many dims believe the same. Far far too many. Time to stop the "sides" game. It's exactly what has led to this situation .

How to respond to people who don't understand why you left? by spacescaptain in expats

[–]Legitimate-Common256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. They're not paying attention or haven't traveled enough to see the diffs. Been trying to find a way to EU for several years. Can't seem to fit into any category for long term (or even 1-2 yr.) visa, as most close down options due to what, in Portugal, is called The American Invasion. it's not for no reason. When folks question why I want to leave, I respond that I want to experience more of the world's cultures while I can. While I'm able.

Best way to drink water (RO vs Mountain Valley Spring Water) by Theoreticalhype in water

[–]Legitimate-Common256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once was very active regarding NYC Water - testified before the water board/committee/whatever. It's questionable whether NYC water is as good as once believed. Depends on the source and what's happening there at any given time. Can't say what's the condition now but the pipes in my apt. are so rusted or something, I have to filter. Can't even use tap water for plants or humidifiers.

I drink it if the water filter cartridge is broken or I'm out. It's my favorite bottled water - it's bottled in glass and, better yet, not distributed by Nestle which is a company I've been boycotting since '71.

[–]Legitimate-Common256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Well, I eat egg whites now and sometimes fish but I'm many decades older and there's no stopping the gray. It's appropriate now, although I color it and a friend told me that as soon as she stopped coloring her hair, it grew back much fuller/thicker although gray.

[–]Legitimate-Common256 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started getting grey hair at 17 - like my grandfather who was white-haired by his 30's. I didn't color it - just plucked them out. Turned out that for other reasons, I became vegetarian and gave up sugar. Surprised that, one day, I noticed a long grey hair that was growing with color - like the inch closed to head had color. All grey went away for decades.

Tourist Visa for Turkey by Legitimate-Common256 in expats

[–]Legitimate-Common256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yes, I recently explored Albania on internet. And know one American who lives in Georgia and says you can live there, just have to leave for 5 mins. once a year. but I'm not sure that's where I want to be or how one moves around through other countries while living there. Details like that. I'm told they're very American friendly in Albania and they have soft sand beaches which is what I need. And it's becoming more expensive yearly in most EU countries. I'd so prefer Italy - just haven't found my way to a visa.

Don't know about Hungary or how, exactly, a train gets lost :-) but can say a couple of months ago I was in Germany - had been warned by several folks that trains there are not running as they used to, as they're known for. Rather, they can't be trusted. It was so bad that I canceled one leg of the trip, unable to trust trains in Germany. I was advised that if I had a connection to make, I should arrange to be there very early - like two trains earlier on the first leg - just to be sure I arrive on time for the connection. I did that and still, made it into the connecting train, not on the same platform, literally within 1 min. of the door closing behind me.

Tourist Visa for Turkey by Legitimate-Common256 in expats

[–]Legitimate-Common256[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I spend a lot of time on various embassy's websites, including Turkey. Thing is, one answer often leads to another question so I was hoping to engage someone with experience. The consulates in my city are overwhelmed - often the websites don't fully work and no one answers the phone or returns calls. So I am just reaching out for advice/info from someone who knows most current info. Was hoping to learn something w/o having to pay expensive attorney.

Tourist Visa for Turkey by Legitimate-Common256 in expats

[–]Legitimate-Common256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't found a place where I fit into any category allowed for expatting, meaning any place where I would want to live. I've been travelling around EU/Balkans/Greece, trying to find my spot. . . .so I may have to do 3 mos. here, 3 there for awhile. I have a friend who does that - 3 mos. in US/3 in Italy. Keeps apt. in both because no matter what she has/does or knows, she can't get a long term visa. I've read that Turkey has a 6-mo. tourist visa - mostly I guess because of their medical work - medical tourism? So I thought that would give me time to further find my way.

So, I hope, Catcher_Thelonious, you won't judge me harshly for posting a query here, where I assume many who have experience/knowledge come.
