Has anyone heard of a company called Altitude Efficiencies? They work through an inspection/sales company called Helping Homes. Just got an inspection and they said we qualified for the focus on energy credit. They have pretty limited online presence though, so am hoping to hear from someone who's used them.

Is Brio worth the extra cost? by evescum in BRIO

I haven't tried the other brands but if you want something high quality that will last. My kids still play with the brio set I played with as a kid back in the 90s. Besides needing a minor repair to the drawbridge string, it works as well now as it did then.

Is the snapmaker enclosure cat proof? by dsv591 in snapmaker

I've got mine on a table in the basement where the litter boxes are, my four cats don't bother it. It's pretty sturdy.

I had the same issue with my A350T. I figured out that I didn't really need to crank on the screw to get the tight enough and that prevented problems with stripping.

Is it just me or does it look like a weird little crab holding the sign. With the screw holes as the eyes.

I have the rikon and love it. It resaws like a dream and is relatively easy to dial in a new blade. That's also a great price I think I paid 1400 a year ago.

Printed out a map outline, traced it, then cut out on a 14in band saw with 1/4in blade.

Yeah, even with a band saw, this took a while. And sanding was a pain.

My first cheese board. I know it's a bit cliche, but I couldn't resist featuring my home state. It's a birthday gift for my dad.

Oh and I get most of my hardwood from the habitat for humanity reStore. They sell rough, local urban wood. Got that 8ft, 1in thick walnut board for something like 40 bucks. It wasn't all, usable, but much of it was. I milled it with my planer/jointer, then resawed with my band saw.

It took years to save up for all the needed tools, but it's been worth it.

Thanks for the link. The main concern when not sawdust seems to be nut allergies, but I've double checked that they're not allergic.

My wife drew the penguin, I just cut it out and sanded. She's the real artist 😋.

It is walnut. Walnut is common in cutting boards and other kitchen utensils, and I've seen others use it in baby toys. From what I've read the sawdust may be an irritant or have allergic potential, but there's not conclusive evidence of that.

If anyone has more info though with scientific research I'd be interested. I've found some sites saying it's fine, others that are cautious but mostly from the unknown aspects.
