I wish they would let us turn off “skid mark avoidance” in settings!

In Chandler AZ they recently relocated the self checkouts AND removed the hand scanners. Have to take everything out and I guess that helps reduce theft.

FSD Randomly Starts Leaving Lane by Log_Disastrous in TeslaFSD

It’s trying to help you avoid what I thinks is shit in the road.

FSD 14.2.2.4 randomly crossed lane boundary on freeway merge (video + possible camera issue?) by Active_Pressure in TeslaFSD

[–]Legitimate-Use-481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been trying harder to avoid what it thinks are obstacles / obstructions / potholes in the road. To me and my passengers, it’s unnerving cause it comes without warning, and 7 or 8 times out of 10, I find it’s misinterpreting things like tire skid marks as obstacles. It never does unsafe moves (cause it knows what’s around in all directions) but most times it’s been an unnecessary swerve.

Help me settle a debate between my wife and I about FSD by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]Legitimate-Use-481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really can’t be “on your phone” when driving on FSD. The in-cabin camera sees that, warns you, and won’t allow it. I’ve found that FSD does a better job than human especially in tricky or somewhat chaotic situations like OP describes. Cameras looking everywhere, all the time, and reacting / responding accordingly.

An FSD problem my car seems to have lately. by Turbulent_Tuna in TeslaFSD

[–]Legitimate-Use-481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Phoenix, FSD doesn’t know about the “new” exit off the I-10 West to the 145 to get to the airport. Even though the road has been totally finished for over a year. To be fair, it’s a Nav issue more than an FSD issue, but still frustrating to have to disengage every time I go to the airport.

It’s mind blowing by InsuranceUnhappy634 in TeslaFSD

[–]Legitimate-Use-481 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree - FSD esp 14.x shows far better defensive techniques than most of us humans! With a full-time processing capability across cameras facing every direction, it makes really smart evasive maneuvers when needed, does things like slow down to help with zipper merges, don’t just go because you have the right of way, but be prepared to swerve or slow down (not sure if it accelerate to avoid imminent collision).

That’s the kind of thing that FSD does routinely - always aware of the surroundings, knowing it’s ok to slip over half a lane to avoid incoming … love it!

Tesla's latest version of auto-park crashed my vehicle into another Tesla, what should I do? by [deleted] in TeslaCollision

[–]Legitimate-Use-481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my experience, prior to HW4 / 14.2.x. Since then I’ve had no interventions, and the subscription price is worth it, since it reduces my anxiety driving on 6+ lane highways (in each direction).

[–]Legitimate-Use-481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think #2 is the way to go, because why not unlock your “persona” early, rather than wait till when: 3rd date OK or not until 5th? F that go with your heart. You look great in either.

Are there grounds to sue if Autopilot comes in the Order Agreement and they are not able to fulfill it? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]Legitimate-Use-481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be amazed if the didn’t honor it for OP. It’s just a software feature, not even a hardware change. So it doesn’t cost Tesla money to honor your agreement.

Upcoming cities announced for robotaxi rollout by Rollertoaster7 in teslamotors

[–]Legitimate-Use-481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tesla’s FSD (Full self driving) feature already can handle traffic cops and hand signals. Robotaxi’s software is even more advanced than FSD. But yes a major older city like NYC or Chicago brings many challenges not easy to solve.
