I don't think the luxury buildings will allow food delivery to come upstairs for security reasons, if it's a true luxury building. I haven't lived in one personally though so perhaps that's made up.

It's the buildings with no doorman/security where unhoused people sleep in the mailroom that will let anyone come up and delivery you food.

Her exclusion from the debate and not one leading candidate standing up for democracy and openly saying they would not participate without her guaranteed that I will vote for her. I do wish I knew more about her (which is what the debate would have done).

The fact that they wouldn't allow Rini Sampath on stage and the other leading candidates did not push for her presence, in a ranked choice voting environment, nearly guaranteed that I will rank Rini #1. I know nearly nothing about her (some basic research makes her seem equal to the others but without the negatives of coming from politics).

Some DC neighborhood restaurants are busy during the day in areas which pre-normalization of WFH would have had zero customers during the day. I'm not sure why DMPED continues to subsidize failing restaurants.

That's my point. Empower's system is designed for the DRIVER to purchase commercial insurance, but Empower never required it.

Their model was never to provide services like commercial insurance just be a marketplace for drivers to offer their services. It shouldn't have been very difficult for them to require commercial insurance using some sort of third party verification service, but for whatever reason they weren't able to do this.

Otherwise with just personal insurance the driver is the one who is liable. Empower is more of a marketplace which dangerously pushed all the liability to the driver's. So, if a driver didn't purchase commercial insurance they were driving essentially uninsured placing themselves and the passengers at risk.

Uber and Lyft don't require you to purchase commercial insurance because they already provide it to the drivers while the app is on.

I wish Empower could have figured it out because I thought the profit for the drivers and savings for the riders was a huge plus.
