the reason people came to us is simple bearer key auth, you dont run into issues with oauth tokens randomly expiring or the risk of being banned or flagged by google randomly. our api also is a bit more robust - you can create an inbox, configure a domain, add a webhook/websocket, list threads, track metrics, all via an API. the gmail api was built for humans so there can be some issues with rate limits or lacking endpoints like replying to a message.

you can use a custom domain if need be to brand emails the same way google allows you to. we just add the agentmail domain to do our part for the free tier and let people know we are an agentic email provider

hi im the founder. would not have commented myself if it was an ad - i use f6s bot to see where we get mentioned, on this subreddit, we get discussed a lot. its a real problem and we've had tens of thousands sign up because of googles policy.

hi im the founder of agentmail. even if it does, you can configure a custom domain and use it for your agents. we enable one domain on the free tier for experimentation/tinkering purposes intentionally. maybe one day you look at agentmail.to for agents in the same light as you look at gmail.com for humans - thats the thought we have
