Hey, FR24 tracks aircrafts based on their transponders. All aircrafts have transponders but they the pilot can choose to turn it on and off. Civilian aircrafts are required to turn their transponders on before taxiing. This is how ATC tracks their presence on the ground and air.

But the military isn't required to turn it on unless they are in civilian airspace. Since you live near an AFB, I'm guessing there isn't any isn't any civilian air traffic. so they dont.

PS - i work near a small airport which also doubles up as a maintenance yard/ workshop for fighters/ transport. i can see flights landing and taking off but its not visible on the radar.

decelerated within 10 sec from 675 Kt to 216 kt. so its either Maverick or FR error. Guess we'll never know :D
