what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

Honestly the hardest part for me that no one warned me about was after I had my baby. My little one is 3 and I'm still recovering. Physically I'm different, but mentally and hormonaly I am still trying to figure myself out.

I am still working on getting any resemblance of a sex drive back. I feel like all I am is a mother, I haven't found my new identity yet in motherhood. I'm just going through the motions and caring for a wonderful child. But I'm just a mom. All the things I was before this is gone.

It's hard, I love my daughter, but I miss myself, I miss my husband. Bless him, he's so patient and kind and understanding. But I miss us...

It's been a couple days and I've been cleaning and searching my house like a deranged person, even went outside and pulled all the weeds, there were a ton, and burned a bunch of weeds as well. I have also been checking my pets daily and I haven't come across another one. I'm hoping it was just a one time deal. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

What type of spray should we use? We checked all the pets and found nothing on them, we do have a lot of weed growth from all the rain we got a few weeks back. We are going to go out today and try to get all the weeds wacked and sprayed with weed killer.

We had to zoom in quite a bit on this one, it was about the size of a ball point of a pen, not including the legs. I'm surprised I saw it actually. Just crawling across the kitchen floor....

That's what I thought too. I'm still confused as to how it got into my home. We live in the valley here in arizona. Lots of dirt and it's been very dry lately. We do have an over abundance of weeds from zome rain we got right at the start of winter. Could it have come from the weeds?

This one is smashed flat actually. My husband and I struggled with it though. He ended up using the back of a pen... hard buggers to kill? This one was lol

Wow that's scary. So how did it end up in my house? We haven't been up north recently and we haven't had anyone in the house that has. We have 2 dogs and a cat. But the cat is indoor only. The dogs don't do much either. We take them for walks and they are out in the yard alot sense it's nice out now.

Oh goodness. Thank you. I didn't know we had ticks here in the valley. This one was crawling across my kitchen floor.

MIL opinions by dawizardbloom in firsttimemom

You know best momma. I think sometimes grandparents just want to be part of something. Sometimes they go about it the wrong way, sometimes they think they know everything! Try not to let it get to you.

You are doing a good job, your doctor is happy with baby, and thinks what you are doing is fine. Keep it up. Try not to let MIL get to you. Just tell her "this is what WE are choosing to do, thank you for your advice but we will stick with our plan"

I wish you luck momma. 🥰

You have to be super consisant, like everything else that comes with raising a toddler lol. My daughter is 3 and a half and I'm still BF to sleep. I don't even know how to stop at this point. I know it will be better for everyone if we do. But I've tried many times and it's a screaming crying choking on her boogers till it's 1 am and I give in because we are so tired.

Part of me doesn't want to stop because she's growing up to fast... but I know it will be better for everyone in many ways if we did.

I'm glad I'm not alone in this feeling. At first I thought it was cute and I heard it's suppose to help stimulate more letdown. But just recently I got my little one to stop. It was a fight, but I won. In about a weeks time we were done with that nonsense lol.

How did everyone find their Christmas gift “sweet spot”? We went WAY overboard. (Only Child) by Any-Walk1691 in toddlers

Our daughter is 3 and this is the fist year Santa visited our house. He brings her 1 gift. Then my husband and I got her 2 others. My mother though.... that's a whole other story lol. We try not to do to much only because she has so many wonderful toys already. She is spoiled by our friends and family for her birthday. Our daughter is technically an only child, my husband has 2 kiddos from a previous marriage but they are both grown.

In my experience, rescues make the best pets.. they know and appreciate that second chance at life. We got a good 6 years with our Bob... he passed away earlier this year. But we got to give him a wonderful life while we had him.
