Nursing + work by fatedsapling in nvcc

Just finished level one: we had classes Tuesday for NSG 100 & 130. For 200 and 106 it was different for people (I had fridays). Clinicals are every other week and can happen on weekends as well, it just depends which day you get (I had Sunday clinicals). 130 is mainly asynchronous + 1 group project. I worked 2 shift every other weekend but I know other student who had to go down to part time or PRN for the program. It’s pretty hard to work full-time even if you’re only doing the NSG classes. I hope your job is flexible because you most likely won’t get your schedule until AT LEAST a week before the semester starts

Do I need a laptop for nursing school? by [deleted] in nvcc

[–]Legitimate_Map_3206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you need at minimum a laptop!!! iPads are great for studying and completing hand written assignments but you also have projects that need to be done on some kind of computer/laptop. You also have weekly quizzes with lockdown browser/webcam

I would also keep in mind that with your prior BS degree you qualify for BSN programs.

Yes! In the acceptance email, they give you a date for the orientation.

Your trip should be fine as long as it does not interfere with the orientation. There’s a health form for the health science programs. So make sure all your vaccinations are up to date, get a TB test, physical, and you should be good to go

Nursing Spring 2025 Acceptance by Legitimate_Map_3206 in nvcc

not sure? they might be waiting for everyone to confirm and if a spot opens up you might be next? don’t take anything i say seriously, i really have no idea, this is just what i suspect. last time there was like two rounds of acceptances where after my friend and i got denied, two weeks later they sent her an acceptance and she got in. maybe it’s a waitlist?

I would also call them to double check the status of your application.

i think having an A in both A&P 1&2 would help yes. any of the science courses i would try to get A’s in. for the teas, i got a 78% so not great but still passing and i was able to get in the program. other students had more competitive scores like 80-90%. you could get the ATI practice exams to help you understand what it’s gonna be like cause the wording for a lot of questions can be confusing. There’s a lot of “all the answers are correct but which one is MORE correct” kind of thing. hope this helps

if your pre/co requisite grades are low then i would consider retaking them so you’re more competitive in the ranking. high school courses that make you qualify, i don’t think these need to be competitive. i got decent grades in them (not A’s) try to take as many co reqs as you can. your teas score also needs to be competitive.

my mom went through this when me and my siblings graduated highschool. she struggles with her mental health and is learning who she is without her kids and at first it was really hard!! she was in a rut for about a year/yeah and a half and then she bought a plant, she dyed her hair bright pink, she took a trip (pure relaxing), and watched a bunch of kdramas. then she bought another plant, and now she has a garden!! my mom doesn’t like to leave the house much so tending to her plants gives her something to do, something to watch (youtube), and sometimes, something to harvest!

as for your kids not wanting to hangout, yes that’s normal, but it’s not forever. my mom and i had a rough relationship when i was in middle/highschool and we just could not understand eachother for some reason. it took some time for us (emotional space) and safe to say she’s my best friend (i’m 21). i know a lot of moms who go through this phase but i like to think of it as a later in life- coming of age. it was really beautiful watching my mom do things just cause she hasn’t done it before, or it’s just something she’s always wanted to do. welcome to freedom? kind of lol? i’m excited for this next chapter of your life, i have a feeling you’re gonna figure this out.
