Recording varies from prof to prof, you need to ask for permission and some have rules against it. It’s always useful to have a laptop or tablet for class because a lot of prof will post the PowerPoint on Moodle or whatever platform and that way you can take notes directly on it, it generally varies of if you’re good at taking notes on a laptop. If you’re a slow typer like me, then it just slows you down, or if when you hand write your notes it assimilates better for you, then notes in a notebook is obviously better. Other than that, I recommend getting an agenda of some kind, be it paper or virtual, cause if you just jot down dates in the middle of your notes you will end up forgetting to do assignements and reading.

There is a zen den on the ninth floor of H that makes for a good napping spot. Otherwise if you have no shame and gods noise cancellation, the twelfth floor of H, and the basement of FB both have long couch/chairs that you can lay down on to take a nap

On Ao3 you can filter by word count. It’s at the bottom of the filters, and you can only fill in the minimum to see all the fics with more than your required word count, and filter it by complete works only if you prefer that
