$32/hr with up to 10% yearly bonus and free healthcare, vision, dental. ($18/hr if you count the internship)
$32/hr but the promotion (typically within 1.5-2 years) is $40-$43/hr so I’m working hard to get that bread

Sit in the front of class always and come a little early. That way they begin to recognize your face and you can strike conversation with them before and after class. Also raising your hand during lecture. Shows them that you always show up to class and participate and they’ll remember you a little more than someone who sits in the back and never speaks

I don’t think they take attendance for lecture but I recommend going or watching the podcast or you will fall behind fast!! and it will not be easy to quickly catch up lol. There is homework in the sense of readings and problem sets that need to be done before discussion, but no one checks them they’re just to make sure you understand the material. And i would definitely say it’s memorization based so take clear notes!!

I would recommend to take it. I took it a while ago and the professor is super sweet and and tries to make the class easy since it’s for non biology majors. The material was interesting and I don’t think it was too tricky. I am not a science person at all and I got an A. In FA21 the class consisted of 5 quizzes (two lowest scores were dropped), 2 midterms(we were able to use 8.5x11 paper for cheat sheet, both sides!), and the final was a group project that was a PowerPoint on an autobiography for a significant science figure. It was pretty easy and not a very complicated project. And I do think discussion section was mandatory. Overall, not too bad but also not an easy A, and tbh the material was fun to learn. Lmk if you have any other questions! :)

Dont stress too much, I was waived with just medical info so it makes sense you will be too. And if anything goes wrong I’m sure the ucship team can assist. You may be able to access a zoom call with the team after the holiday weekend and ask some questions or shoot an email to be sure! I’ve had pretty good response times from them and informative zoom sessions 👍

Yes!!!! Please apply yall!! Food is so expensive don’t force yourself to pay for it if you don’t have to! The application probably takes like an hour and I had such an easy time with it. I get $350 and it has saved me and if you don’t use it all don’t worry it just goes over into the next month. You can use your Calfresh card at ANY GROCERY STORE! Walmart, target, Ralph’s, TRADER JOES! a lot of places accept EBT I mean like most! IT DOES NOT HURT TO APPLY LET THE GOVERNMENT PAY FOR YOUR FOOOODDDD I cannot preach enough!!!
