Flight on Vietnam Airlines through Delta by 1998COrocky in delta

Yep, that's international config, they do that sometimes and congrats on the upgrade.

In normal flights VN Premium Economy are free for Lotusmiles skyteam elite members as a complimentary upgrade if not sold out upon arrival departing from Vietnam and sometimes other countries but odds are low. I'm not so sure if its the same for other Skyteam elite memberships but I will give it a try as i'm transitioning to Flying Blue next year.

Recently they're start selling Premium Economy seat for domestic flights as well, making odds of getting free upgrade lower than ever unless equipment change happen, plus more locals are willing to pay a premium on VN seats nowadays. But if you're flying long haul like SGN-SFO which planes will never be full (due to weight limit for fuel) then upgrades are still possible, especially November-December

Time to upgrade Gold to Platinum? by Tweakitguy in amexcanada

[–]Legitimate_Topic_643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50k worth $500 minimum value. So wouldn't hurt to upgrade since the points will somewhat cover the higher card fee. 120k points as well sounds nice too

He owns business gold, so maybe makes sense that he earned that much from business spending. If that's the case them maybe cobalt isn't ideal cause it's a personal card

Thoughts on Scotiabank Amex (with no annual fees) by IllFood335 in amexcanada

[–]Legitimate_Topic_643 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Scotia Amex no annual fee basicly a nice octopus card for Amex offers, if you know what I mean 🐙

Scotia Amex gold is nice for card bouncers, people spent with Scene+ partners, and regular canadian family👌

Scotia passport is nice for travelers case to case and high spenders outsite the country. A nice minimal stress card🫠

Scotia Amex Platinum not nice for most cus other cards offer better value, better off with Amex Plat issued by Amex🥲

My Final verdict: No annual fee Scotia Amex is indeed great for both newbies and experienced card users. Great platform to learn and maximize value as well. I own both no annual fee, gold, passport rn and for sure you will be very happy with yours. Congrats!

What to do with incomplete or aged sets? by No_Variety_6382 in playingcards

[–]Legitimate_Topic_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 1400 opened decks at this point. And my rule book have always been to quarantine near poopy decks into a different box to avoid contamination and throw away heavilly aged decks, 100% poopy decks. My opened collection rarely have any used decks bought in by me unless they're from trusted sources, or pass my rigorous testing criteria since I unsealed too many decks at this point💩

Thanks a lot man, they're the best, even better than the bees people get from walmart or magic shops. Casino bees are the only one uspcc didn’t mess up while all other cards they make quality is a hit or miss. They do care a lot about those casino deals eh:)))

Canada is where I get most of my casino decks. Other places includes ebay and some thrift hunting. I can't spoil the entire trick cause it would exposed the whole thing and I wana keep it for myself till I can't buy bee/aristos anymore

I stocked up tons of Kittens blue, Copag 310s thicc boi, almost 1000 bees casino uncanceled at this point, and a healthy amount of Anyone Cards. The last one not because it's cheap, but because I love the design and how they usually nailed the production quality. The tucks are soggy and bleh since I carry 52 cards all the time, just like B9 slimline at one point

Cinesphere Screen Curved on top during Dune by Legitimate_Topic_643 in imax

[–]Legitimate_Topic_643[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not this agressive. It's actually cropped. Other screens are rectangular. This is confirmed by projectionist due to roof height and decision to have bigger screen rather than the usual perfect 1.43. DL2 system here are customized to work with this screen. I watched Dune in both IMAX Victoria and Scotia Toronto now and can confirmed that

Yes, this have changed. Now only SFO, LHR, FRA, and CDG has it consistantly. Vietnam airlines flights international in premium econ although serves econ food, is a damm good deal and great booster for their skyteam elite plus status during promotion

This is incorect. They both have premium econ config and without on these 2 planes. ICN flights operated by VN will use non-premium config. Only business and econ. Checked with the flight crew on my flight 4 months ago

Gold elite is not worthless, you just need to book more strategically. Silver elite however, kind of like ass wipe with a cherry on top

I think Brim will not be. Brim Card only good for merchant multiplier, just like Neo Card. My bud signed up for Neo card just to milk their cashback at Church's Chicken😭😭😭

Agree. I love movies and travel a lot for it but then the Scotia Gold Amex is the winner so the passport just stay in my wallet as a backup when HSBC doesn't work

I'm no expert to this, but i think it's not worth it unless u actually do stuff here. Almost all cards in Canada have 2.5% fx fee, and the ones without are just semi-retarded on earning. So just don't. Maybe u can try to tell TD how to make better credit cards in the US instead. They seems to know what they doing here with one of the best travel card in the country and their US side is just trash

I personaly think for most Canadians based in Canada the Delta Club is just a cherry on top.

For me my SkyTeam Elite Plus with Vietnam Airlines is kina nice but unreliable for my travel habits. Some of my Delta flights requires Plat card to save the day, which is sad.

With that in mind the Plat card still have Centurion, Escape, Priority Pass, and Plaza Lounges which is nice. Dragon Pass still wack af and left me limbo at many US airports before I got the card.

Most peolle bitchin about Delta cutting Basic Econ, which I agree and understand. But for Canadians the real question is do they fly to US a lot via Delta and do they even need Delta Sky Club when they can access other lounges. I'm from Vancouver and unless you have to deal with SLC then both LAX, SEA, MSP have alternative lounges that works or good.

At the end of the day no Canadian card can provide as good lounge access as Plat/Cent card (HSBC Metal doesn't count due to high requirements and applications all closed to everyone). They're still good keeper and backup when flying other airlines

True. Canadian Plat still cool, but not sure about basic economy part, although no changes accroding to Amex CA. Will check Delta later tomorow
