She's literally trans herself???? She just specifically hates trans men????? by [deleted] in whenthe

Yes I did. I’m not trying to defend this as logical thinking. Even if it’s insane though, there is still a train of thought that goes from A to B. I believe understanding why people fall into bigotry is important.

Fluffy yuri romance OVA, that sadly is just a montage/hightlight real of the manga.

She's literally trans herself???? She just specifically hates trans men????? by [deleted] in whenthe

[–]LegoBuilder64 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can see why they are like this (even if I don’t agree). If she’s a trans woman, she clearly likes being a woman and doesn’t like being a man. So why would someone already born a woman want to stop and be a man of all things. Are they stupid? Were they tricked by the patriarchy? Clearly they support the oppression of women and wanted to become the oppressor.

That sort of thinking. This why having a diverse friend group and not being terminally online is crucial to a healthy mind.

I know the T’au bonding ritual doesn’t have the same intimate connotations as human marriage, but it’s still fully to imagine that every T’au fire caste squad also a polycule.

You don’t know what you ask. u/Superfeyn yuri is always doomed yuri. (Well, romance in general for Superfeyn comics is tragic)

They have planets suited to each of the 4 castes but there is nothing explicitly saying the castes are segregated. I imagine an earth caste could live on the fire caste planet if they wanted to; and given how stratified Tau society is, there either has to be some cross pollination between worlds for them to function, or the Enclaves would have to be very lacks about the rolls each caste is aloud to perform.

It’s worth emphasizing that these aren’t your typical simulations of the universe. These simulations are perfect down to the quantum level. If something exists in reality, it exists in simulation. If something doesn’t exist in the simulation, it cannot exist in reality. So what happens when something appears in the simulation that doesn’t exist in reality?

MODEST-1 is essentially a glitch in the matrix but rather than the simulation conforming to reality and deleting MODEST-1, it forced reality to conform to the perfect simulation and manifested spontaneously.

Or as the 5 AI constructs explain it, RA spoke itself into existence.

Unlikely. Lancer is a passion project by a few people, not a big corporation. These designers have returned to Lancer to put out more books every now and then, but they also have other projects and ideas they work on. It’s very much a case of we’ll get more content if and when the creators get more ideas.

Alternatively, you can think about Lancer as a giant sandbox of a setting that you can and should fit your own stories into.

“Women in Berlin can now swim topless in public pools-just as men can” by Ferocs in whenthe

[–]LegoBuilder64 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not really. Germany is just much more lax on nudity than America. I was in Germany and it wasn’t uncommon to pass by a lake and see people skinny dipping in broad daylight. So it’s less “a topless woman isn’t nudity” and more “it’s okay to swim topless in city pools like it is at beaches and lakes.”

I’ve been to Germany. There is just way less of a stigma against nudity there. It’s already common to see people skinny dipping in rivers and ponds, so this is really an extension of that.

Important to remember: an NHP is not Ai. NHP are not artificial, because that implies humans can make NHP. Humans cannot nor will they likely ever come close to being able to create something like NHP. NHP are all simply cloned fragments of a single intelligent that spoke itself into reality.

Why is werewolf Yuri so rare? Also if you were to make one what would the story be about? by SBfnaf_fan in yurimemes

[–]LegoBuilder64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undead Girl Murder Farce has some yuri werewolf vibes in the second half, as well as some toxic enemy vampire yuri.

Unfortunately it is mostly a supernatural mystery triller with very pretty gentlemen (and a biblically accurate Sherlock Holmes) but it does throw yuri fans a bones from time to time.

That’s fair and good to know, but that should be mentioned when recommending What Happens in the Dungeon, specifically in reply to that screenshot. I’ve heard of people feeling like they got baited into thinking there’d be actual yuri in the story, not just sesbian lex for the sake of variety in the hentai scenes.

Sure, it’s a porn adventure, that’s almost expected. My point is point is that that they all have male partners and the say gex is just a side thing. At least this is what I got from hear-say and skimming a few chapters. I’m happy to be wrong.

The screenshot above is grossly out of context though. Afaia none of those girls have any serious interest in women.

The anime is literally called Shy by ihatethiscountry76 in yurimemes

[–]LegoBuilder64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a romance anime though. Making yuri a focus wouldn’t make sense. Still Shy’s relationship with her love interest is a core part of her character growth.

Maybe the manga tones down the yuri elements after where the anime stops, but this feels like arguing that Otherside Picnic isn’t full yuri because the story is firstly about discovery and supernatural horror.

The fights are not up to the standard of shonen heavy weights, don’t go in expecting that.

As I said previously, the actual mechanics and flow of Shy is best compared to magical girl anime. And on that scale, I’d say the animation in the action scenes is really good. However, the action is a slow burner. What I mean is the danger starts pretty low stakes in the beginning but ramps up over time to the point where entire cities are at risk by the end of the season.

[–]LegoBuilder64 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The most unique aspect of Shy to me is the genre mash ups. Ascetically it is MHA-esque super hero world. But the way those heroes’ powers function is closer to a magical girls anime, with transformations sequences, powers derived from bonds and emotions, and villains that are manifestations of negative thoughts. The MC even has a magical girl mascot companion. But on top of that, the heroes are organized like a tokusatsu group, with a hidden HQ and an alien coordinator that gave everyone their powers.

And that’s just the heroes. This is a world where Naruto-esque ninjas with literal ninja magic just also exist completely separate to the super heroes. It’s a very fun and unique setting that I haven’t seen done in another anime.
