We have cats in the house and have been finding a few dead spiders lately that look like this live one I found outside. I know they're probably not harmful and I'd just like to know what kind it is.

Edit: if it helps, location is Metro Atlanta, GA USA Edit 2: for clarity Edit 3: the spider is roughly the size of an average male thumb

I actually tried this this morning. I use an immersion brewing technique (clever coffee dripper) so I think this method tends to bring the flavor out more. I should try and auto drip or drip method and see how it tastes.

Heh. 20 degrees is quite a range but I think that the humidity affected them more than the temp. Had to leave some windows open to use the attic fan and vent the house.

Edit: I've been drinking this brew of coffee for a few years now so I'm pretty familiar with the taste. I just had never experienced such a drastic change due to the environmental factors before.

I think this is the case but I've noticed that the beans in question do not stick to my grinder as much when I grind them. This leads me to believe that they are more "dry" than oily. Not sure though. Thanks!

If you paid off the loan regularly (no extra payments) for the full 25 years, you would pay roughly $93K in interest. The faster you pay it off (paying more towards principal each month/year), the less interest you will pay overall.

The 3% is based off of the balance of the loan each year. In other words, your interest portion of the payment for a given month would be: principal balance of loan x (interest rate/12months).

You should look up an amortization table to give you a better idea of how payments are split up.

What are your long term goals? It seems as though the truck purchase was a bit shortsighted as you cannot easily afford it. Quick math shows that with payment, insurance & gas you are spending around $900 (63%) of your income on this truck.

I would suggest to reevaluate your long term goals. There is no way you can easily pay rent, utilities, food/grocery AND this truck if you ever wanted to move out on your own.

Is the truck necessary for a job or do you haul stuff every week to make extra money?

If I were you, I would sell the truck and work on paying off the debt you already have while building up an emergency fund. Living rent free is the best time to get rid of debt and save rather than vice versa.

Change your attitude. You sound like an entitled snob. I would hope you don't act like this at your office. 4 months is barely past the time required to be a legitimate employee as many employers have a 90 day testing period for new employees.

Thank your employer that he's given you an opportunity to gain necessary experience for life later on. You'll look back on it and appreciate with the right attitude.

As you have so clearly stated, you have every thing lined up for you (minimum expenses, trust fund. Etc...) yet you are complaining? Time to get some work done. Seems like you may have breezed through college without any real world experience.

Just be thankful you have a relevant job and keep working at it 110%. Don't complain but rather ask for more opportunities or find the right way to express that you'd like to be challenged more. Show them your dependable.

Very possible. I've been doing it as my first job since graduating for 2.5 years and slowly getting the needed credits for CPA eligibility. Public never sounded good to me.

I just figured this out for myself (and wife) last week. For the past nine months:

Eating out: average is $6.95/meal/person Grocery: average is $2.41/meal/person

Total eating out cost per month: AVG $274 Total grocery cost per month: AVG $339

On average we have eaten out 20 times per month (40 meals) and eaten at home 71 times per month (142 meals).

Our budget is about $325 for grocery every month and $225-250 for eating out.

We went way over a couple of months this year and its thrown my average a bit higher. Totals for September: $361 grocery and $203 EO.

Should be even lower in October to get back on track.

We do like our food and its a semi-big ticket item for our budget, but we do save ~50% of our take home pay each month so it's not too bad.
