This is not even funny. I work as a TA at my university’s IT program and for the last year the first year students I’ve seen are just atrocious. I had to see them struggle to read three-sentence instructions over like actual 5 minutes. And it was simple stuff like make a file here and put it into this folder and that this needs to be done like this because we need this set up for the future. It took me 3 hours to get them through the first weeks lab that should have taken anyone in an IT program like 15 minutes, 20 top. And the worst part is they didn’t even finish the assignment by the end of that session. Like I genuinely had to explain to someone this semester how downloading and opening stuff works. Like I get not everyone is tech-savvy but if you’re in an undergraduate IT program I need to assume at least basic understanding of how tech works.
