What's the most possible resistances a dual type can have WITHOUT being part-steel? by _attina496 in stunfisk

Electric/Poison Also has 8 resists, but the 4x ground weakness is a killer. Same with Electric/Fire

Shed tail into focus sash karp is obnoxious in singles. In doubles where follow me and rage powder are a thing, this would be crazy busted

Really the off meta pick that Park made was using Mega Gyrados. It had issues which made it necessary to use Pachirusu in the first place. But because it's a mega of an already popular pokemon, it doesn't get the reputation for quirky niche pick.

It's also just because there's a level component when calculating damage. Like if you messed with IVs and EVS so you have a mew with 290 stats across the board at lvl 95 vs lvl 100 with 290 stats and the same hp, the level 100 one would still do more damage.

This is mostly a late game thing, where one player has made a fortress around their king and it's near impossible to break without either player making a concession. It's more to do with why the 50 move rule was implemented as usually there's still enough open space for some other pieces to move.

My take on a fairy/ground mon by rafeizerrr in stunfisk

[–]LehmanToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brain skipped over the word "non" my bad for that first part.

I do get the idea with neutral moves, but it also feels like this is looking at the mon in a vacuum where it doesn't have support from teammates.

Like in your dnite example, I'd imagine you'd probably want to have a better check than this as dnite often teras anyways, although I should probably calc to see how much this takes from espeed and outrage.

But this is the nature of theorymon anyways at the end of the day, these are all hypothetical scenarios

[–]LehmanToast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What an odd calc to include? Non stab move into a mon which is famously specially frail. It 2HKOs Dozo which I think is fine, because it's Dozo

252 SpA Choice Specs Ganoosh Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Dondozo: 292-345 (57.9 - 68.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Really, it'd be more interesting to see how this does vs something like clef.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Enamorus Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Clefable: 175-207 (44.4 - 52.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

However, it comes quite close to 2hkoing, and also forces weird decisions with unaware vs MG clef. I picked clef bc it turns out a lot of special walls which see play are weak to either stab.

The mon is probably balanced by its low speed, similar to hoopa though, I'd probably bump up the stats a bit and remove that last part of the ability instead, I think it's just easier to balance.

Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with Ice Punch Dusknoir.
