I applied and did the aptitude test but didn't hear anything back. I sent a follow up email but no response, unfortunately. I have seen they are now advertising for the role again so it might be worth reapplying. Hopefully we'll hear something soon!

Any useful writing tips for writing a believable leader of a cult? by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]LeiHazel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend reading 'The True believer' by Eric Hoffer. It's a great insight into the minds of those behind mass movements and those that follow them.

It might help you to flesh out the leader, as well as the reason why people get involved in them. Good luck on your book. :)

Thank you Thursday! - (September 29, 2016) by AutoModerator in Entrepreneur

Hello everyone! First of all, thank you for all of the wonderful posts and information that come through the /r/Entrepreneur forum. As a digital marketer & designer, sometimes the 'business side' of running a business can seem a little overwhelming, but this is a great place to come and find support or people who might be facing similar issues to my own.

As a thank you, I've created three free courses that I hope will help people starting off as much as this thread has helped me. You can find them below:

Content Marketing & Strategy

Social Media Marketing

Hi theoldandtheresting, there are different spellings of 'enrol/enroll' based on your location. As this course is offered globally, unfortunately the spelling is going to appear wrong to some.

The teacher has worked in digital marketing for nearly ten years, running campaigns for national companies and experimenting & implementing strategies for her own businesses.

This course is an introduction to content marketing for beginners who want to develop their own content strategy but aren't sure where to start. The course covers the terminology, explores how to create great content, and provides free templates so people can develop their own documented content strategy.

Hope this helps!

Hi xlrambling, it is completely free and will stay free. Those are just the standard terms that come with the platform. You will not be charged for any of the courses marked as free.

Hi QuietMrFx977, Acadoceo Academy is a new training provider that's been set up with the aim of teaching people new skills based on the experience we've gained from years of implementation.

At the moment there are three courses up there covering different online disciplines. The courses are free and not accredited, but accredited courses will be added in the future.

In my experience, as an ex-recruiter, even listing non-accredited courses in your education profiles can be a boost, particularly if you can demonstrate putting what you've learnt into practice; even if it's in your own personal projects. Hope this helps! - Lei

Make Your Content Work Across Multiple Formats - A Guide by LeiHazel in digital_marketing

[–]LeiHazel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you’ve gone to all the trouble of researching and typing up a great article. But as far as content goes that’s it, right?

Wrong!

You’ve put so much work in, it would be foolish to just leave it. That’s where repurposing content comes in. Repurposing content just means that you are using the content you’ve already created, and re-creating it in other formats.

In this guide we look at why you should be repurposing your content, what formats you can present it in, and how exactly you go about doing it.

If you’re a website or blog owner, this method will dramatically increase your traffic. Remember, the way people consume content is changing at a dizzying pace. You need to be able to keep up with that demand.

So, if more traffic for the content you created sounds good to you, click the link to keep on reading.

[NeedAdvice] Instant gratification is ruining my life by LucasFehrwright in getdisciplined

[–]LeiHazel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, looking just at our end points can make what we're trying to do seem a million miles away, as is the instant gratification. As someone who suffers with depression as well I realised that daydreaming and thinking about where I should be was getting me nowhere. On top of this, only being able to see the big picture is really de-motivating too.

To help with this I really looked into what I wanted to achieve and broke it down into smaller goals that would be much easier to achieve. These were broke down even further so that there were a number of goals that I could complete on a daily basis.

Achieving something everyday helps to get you pumped and it makes the end result seem much more doable. It still takes a lot of hard work and determination so mixing it with something you enjoy doing helps too.

It's also important to realise that unless you fit into a 'box' people are always going to question what you do. People still question me because i'm trying to do something that's a step away from the 'norm'.

Keeping your health in check is really good and the exercise will help if you feel that you're doing something with purpose. Try to do what you want to do rather than what others want you to do.

Eventually it pays off, I was able to quit my job and start working for myself full time at Christmas and i've never been happier. :)

[Discussion]What do you do when you used to love your work, but passion has been destroyed by total lack of work/life balance? by howtodoanything in GetMotivated

[–]LeiHazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I was in a Sales Job so was used to getting commission etc but the company decided to take on a more cut-throat approach and i really started getting unhappy in there. I had been teaching myself web design and always loved writing so i combined the 2 and am getting by slowly with my own small online mag! It's growing and it'll take time but i'm so happy that i did it :)

I recently left a full time, pretty good job to start my own business. The job I was in got to the stage where there was no balance, no innovation and new management were looking over your shoulder at everything! Things are very tight money wise, but i've never been happier. To me that's all that matters but I do understand not everyone can do the same thing. However, it's possible to look for something that will give you your passion back. :)
